    There are always groups of people who swear Maxtor blows and WD never fails, or Redhat installs on any hardware and Mandrake does not work on any.

    The bottom line is, most distros work on most hardware without significant problems. There will always be fanboys who cry for years because they had one or two bad experiences with a Distro.

    Last year in Montgomery County, Maryland we had all electronic voting. *All* of the poll workers were IT staff from the County and local City governments. Seemed to work out nicely except for the fact that I had to wake up 4 hours early that day to be at one of the polling stations. =(

    I know local conputer shops that have already phased out CRTs because the shipping is so much cheaper that it balances out. They also save much needed floorspace in their inventories.

    You, sir, are not seeing the bg picture. The author/owner may still have a copy of the original bits, but the music or software is still floating around the whole web out of his control for anyone to aquire. I'd say that's depriving the author/owner of something, wouldnt you?

    The *minimum* sentencing guidline for aggravated sexual assault is 70 months. The maximum for copyright infringement is 60 months. I'd call that a significant and appropriate difference.

    You won't regret it! But seriously, Washington DC is a good place to start. Its not much of a tourist trap and theres huge quantity of museums. Just make sure you stop by the National Zoo there too. And if you really want some giggles stop and sit in on some Congressional hearings. If you want to learn about early US history for some reason, the PA/MD/VA/DC area is chock full of it. The Mississippi River, Grand Canyon, Smokey Mountains and Texas are all worth a look for general neat and historical places to go. I also hear Nova Scotia is quite nice.
