Windows 2000 needs RAM, not speed. It runs great on Celeron 500s and PIII450s, as long as it has 196mb of ram at the minimum. It can be a bit sluggish with PII 350s when running multiple apps at the same time(word, IE, outlook), but it is still acceptable. The sweet spot for a PII 350 and win2k is 256mb of ram.
The GF4 MX has two pixel pipelines capable of laying down two pixels per clock, and it has a fixed-function T&L engine. There aren't any pixel or vertex shaders in sight...
Never buy an MX card from nvidia. Try to find a GF3TI 500. Ive seen them for about 75. It will have much better performance than a GF4MX. If you didnt know, a GF4MX performs worse than a GF2GTS. It also has no hardware T&L.
No no no! Buy the Xbox, just dont buy anything else, games, controller ect. Use it as a DVD player(unless your anti-MPAA, no-one here is anti-MPAA right?:) Use it as a linux terminal! Remember, they take a hit on the hardware. Enough small hits, and you get, well, alot of small hits. Every bit helps!

They used to make these for 30-pin and 72-pin, but seemed to stop when 168 and 184 pin dimms rolled around. I only did about 5 minutes of searching on google, but you might be able to find someplace actually selling that.
NVIDIA didnt reinvent it. They basically threw a few options on top of the built in windows multi-monitor support. What did they add, you ask? How about virtual desktop support. And...err, well, that's all they really added, but they did it well. All of the options to move windows around from virtual dekstop to virtual desktop are there, including moving just a particualr window, or all the windows associated to a particular app. Additionally, there is a task/desktop switcher that one can configure, which gives the user a windows-like alt-tab, with which to scroll through the various virtual desktops AND the individual applications in any given desktop. All of the hotkeys are completely user configurable. You can have at least 32 virtual desktops (highest I tried). Best of all, all of the virtual desktop options work correctly when using multiple monitors.
Granted, I didnt read the article, but at least have some idea of what you are talking about before you go spouting off about it. BTW, the features I describe apply to the latest non-WHQL drivers from NVIDIA. I have tested all of the above features with both two-headed NVIDIA cards, and one single headed Nvidia in combonation with a single headed non-NVIDIA card.
You can also get virtual desktops using NVIDIA's latest DET drivers( 40.42, methinks). I've tested it, and it works great under Win2k and WinXP. Nice little bonus.
Have you played any recent Blizzard games? Diablo 2 comes to mind. That was a release now, patch immediately, patch some more, and patch a few more times just for good measure. Half of the "bugs" fixed in their patches were gameplay tweaks.
They are refering to the fact that with DRAM, once the bit has been set, you do not have to keep rewriting the actual value to that address every x seconds, you must merely reapply a smaller amount of voltage(in comparison to actually setting a value) every x (nano? mili?) seconds to keep the value in place.
This is why it is possible to have motherboards that support STR - Suspend to RAM, wherein the system shuts off, but all data is still in memory because a very low voltage is used to refresh the values. Its kinda cool, cause when I turn my PC on, right after the BIOS is finished posting and the hard disk is spun up, I am instantly in windows, with any programs up that I left running when I turned the PC off. If I turned the PC off mid-song, that song will instantly continue playing right where it left off. Maybe I'm just easily impressed.
Except it is. Paypal's own page herestates that they keep your money in a bank that is FDIC insured, and that any losses are covered via pass-through regulation. If that bank is looted while your funds are there via Paypal, you still get your money back up to the regulation $100,000.
I love harvey birdman. The Brak show is pretty awsome too. They made 13 episodes, problem is, they kept repeating the same one 4 times in a row. A bit stupid if you ask me. Check your favorite file-sharing service if you want to see the sepctacular Brak Show.

Nope. As far as stability, availability of drivers, windows compatability, and non-forced updates, win2k is the best windows IMO.

Maybe this is finally a scientific reason for spontaneous human combustion?

Ahh, but the difference is, pricewatch.com's prices and products are all submitted by the stores themselves.
Yeah, cause they look at console sales and not game sales, right?

Would be the lag. Seriously, that'd really suck if you over-cut because of lag.

A 15 watt Argon Ion laser will punch holes in aluminum cans. It will also cause severe burns to peolple and go through clothes like mad.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Buddy! I've been itching for some more Brak. 13 episodes is not enough!

Yeah, these things dont even support SACDs or DVD-Audio.
