I really like it actually. GPS is spotty compared to iPhone, but other than that it is world's better (in my opinion). The OLED is gorgeous.
That said I will never purchase another Samsung device that needs updating. I was promised Froyo in September after purchasing in June. Still haven't gotten it. Sure I got my own Froyo update in December, but I expected an update and got shafted. I'd read bad reports about Samsung not updating in the past and thought "this time will be different... this is a flagship device." Nope.
I dislike the "this group messed up, so hate the whole company" attitude, so I would consider a TV or the like. But not a phone.
Because of management issues, I can't see running a huge cluster of PS3's, but it's an angle we're pursuing to see how well it works. Tesla-based clusters are also something being considered, but they type of work you can do on them is a bit more limited than a general purpose cluster based on conventional blades.
So what's wrong with leaving it at 3.21. Did you want to play games in off hours?
It's just a matter of realizing it's a "cacophony" of opposing and often incorrect ideas" and simply:
1. Enjoying the positive remarks as a motivator, which are there if you've done a decent job.
2. Letting the gestalt sink in for that next "eureka" moment.
At the very least have someone whose job it is to read and maintain the forum.
PC Gamers tend to be older due to the greater investment.
Older people tend to cooperate more and be more reliable.
The test was one of cooperation and reliability.
On the other hand, I play on consoles. The people I team with are always my friends, and near my age (sadly, older than I'd like) or maturity level (happily, lower than most my age). I always receive the cooperation I expect. Well, not always you *$#$%#%#.
The message is, if you are a lone user looking for cooperation, go for a PC. Little else.
Don't underestimate the importance of having interior light after sundown. In many villages, it is impossible to do any reading or studying since there is no artificial light.
I don't understand. Why don't they just switch from e-ink readers to LCD tablets?
>quote>Of course there are many that claim it failed because the price hikes were not propagated to the end consumers but this is a crock because the end result would not have been an end to the manipulation it would have meant many consumers would have to do without electricity,
While we can never turn back the clock and know for sure, it stands to reason that if price had increased, demand would have decreased in a more natural way.
As it was, many went without power anyway at random times due to rolling blackouts..
Now, I completely agree with the point that a lassez-faire market will lead to a non-free market, therefore regulation is needed. This does not mean that any and all regulations are inherently well written.
Dogs you mean. No other animal can beat dogs when it comes to reading the human mind. Most animals don't even know to look at where we are pointing at.
I had heard that about dogs, and one of the interesting things I learned when having kids is that following someone else's gaze to see what they are looking at, and following a pointed finger, are precursors to speech in small children.
Tried the same with the PS3 (I loved Fallout and Uncharted) but there simply aren't a whole lot of good local multiplayer games to be found.
I got a slim and keep a spare set of cables at my buddies house. The great thing is that with todays LCDs it's easy to move them to a comfortable spot for the evening. Playing online with individual screens in the same room harkens back to the old LAN party days, and it is a blast.
Nintendo has proven that they can create fascinating games (and consoles).
So have many other companies. But it is a commonly accepted fact that despite selling a whole bunch and appealing to a large audience, the general experience has not been very deep.
Mario, Zelda and more, people love them and they never got old in 25 years.
Guess what? I played and loved Zelda and Mario 25 years ago. Guess what else? They got old.
Can you give me any other company that has affected the gaming world as much as them?
McDonald's is very popular and has a broad impact on our eating habits. That doesn't make their food good. Now, that also isn't saying Nintendo's bad, I'm just saying that sales/affect don't make a company great. I also don't want to be playing Mario and Zelda 25 years from now.
Climate is going to shift; species are going to go extinct;
The climate has shifted since climate existed.
species are going to go extinct
Species have gone extinct since species existed.
agricultural and hydraulic "haves" are going to become "have-nots", and vice versa;
Somehow I don't think the have-nots will be so upset about switching places so that seems to be a wash.
nations will have new things to fight about;
Nations have found reasons to fight since nations existed.
we're going to have to move all our coastal cities to higher ground;
This I'm not buying. The highest projections show a couple meters of rise over centuries. While that will certainly affect a few cities, and a lot of multi-million dollar beachfront property, we aren't going to have to move all our cities.
It's in progress now. Don't know when the shooting is going to start, but the effects seem to consistently outrun the predictions, so you should expect the shooting to start sooner rather than later.
There is shooting now. Where there are governments, there is shooting.
So we've established the PSP was cracked because it didn't have any good games, the PS3 is being cracked because Sony removed OtherOS, we don't know why the DS was cracked, and we haven't mentioned the PS2, Xbox, or 360.
I'm really just trying to understand all this. You've been very helpful so far, but there are a few other systems I'm not clear on with all this.

There's also gay porn sites and sites that aren't even related to porn any way in the censorship list.
Look, take your bigotry and hatred elsewhere. Gay porn is still porn!

It's on the Enterprise?
If he wanted credit, he'd post with his username and call Americans fat and stupid. Modded +5 in no time.
When I bought it, it had backwards comparability for almost all PS2 games...not now
If you purchased it with PS2 compat, it still has it.
And it introduced a host of other features, and is far more open than Xbox ever was.
If you're really going to be that upset over a feature I'm sure you "family" used regularly, then good luck being satisfied owning anything.
Do not take any specific location changes to mean global stuff.
And yet how many stories of individual glaciers and polar bears do climate changers nod their heads to?

In actuality, each person picks a line based on how long it is at the moment.
No way. I pick lines based on the gender, age, and contents of their baskets.
:)
How I judge these factors, and any additional factors I might observe, will be withheld for the sake of political correctness.
So basically the amount of thought that goes into how to get sex from my wife.

I guess that Slashdot, Taco, and letsurock have forgotten that when the women says stop and the man doesn't, it is rape, even here in the U.S.
And you forget, that even here in the US, people are innocent until proven guilty.
Well, we give lip service to that at least.

The future lies with indie-games and Nintendo
Nintendo? Dear God I hope not. I mean, good for them and all, but still...
Why we need to go back to tightly wound springs.

So wait, you're saying the PSP got cracked because it didn't have any good games, but the DS has a lot of good games and it's also cracked.
So why was the DS cracked?
Scary analogy. Have you ever uttered the phrase "Why you make me hit you, baby?"
It's interesting to see both sides using this argument while accusing the other side of the same thing:
You made me remove OtherOS because you hacked the console!
You made us hack the console because you removed OtherOS!
You can choose one for your "side", or you can tell the other "side" they can't use theirs. But no, you can't have it both ways. Not yours.
so in answer to your question the feature that sony removed from the psp was quality software
Chicken, meet egg. It was cracked so no one bought games so no one made games so it was cracked so no one bought games so no one made games.
no one was really trying that hard for 3.5 of those 4 years, until they started removing features "just because"
sony's other current gen console has been gang rapped so many times they even removed the disc drive
So what features did they remove from the PSP in order to cause people to gang rap it in the first place?
