Agreed - the question is poorly put and unrealistic. He wants a Swiss Army knife of languages, good at everything (web, mobile, desktop GUI), without a learning curve and not too "text based" (whatever that means)
The very question is racist. Why does it matter how many of a certain color there are? If I get hired for a job, I want it to be because I was the right fit for the job, not because my skin was the appropriate color to meet some quota.
Forget it. Getting rid of Obamacare won't lower your health insurance premiums a bit. It's like gasoline, once the price goes up, it doesn't come back down again.
Ever go into a Kroger store and see those televisions hanging from the ceiling at the check out area? The ones with the big yellow circles and numbers? That's QueVision. Infrared sensors at the doors track how many people come in and out of the store, and sensors over each checkout line track how many people are waiting. All that gets processed, and the system tells the front end supervisor how many lanes they need to have open right then. (and predicts how many they'll need soon, too)
This system doesn't track you as an individual throughout the store, it just reports how many people are in specific areas of the store.
They can also send a refrigerated trailer (reefers), which they did for several stores on the east coast last year when we had that derecho come ripping through. You and I might know the same fellow.
I sort of thought thats what cameras did - created a false sense of security. They don't PREVENT crime. They don't PROTECT you. All they do is help catch the guy later, after the harm has already occurred.
I had a lot of trouble doing the shield block, until I discovered that it works much more reliably if you dip the front of the nunchuck, as though you were cracking a whip (just not nearly as violently). Works like a charm.
but it will still be the market leader for the next generation at least.
Yeah, you just have to specify which market you're in. Just like those car commercials. Ever notice that every car advertised is "best in it's class"? Yeah? Is every car in its own class, then?
PS3 will be the market leader.. in the market for PS3s.
I am for the regulation of pornography because I don't want kids to be able to access it.
The internet is not a toy, and children should not be allowed unsupervised access to it. Start being a parent, and stop relying on everyone else to watch out for your children.
Am I the only one that finds the DS's buttons already uncomfortable to use? Making smaller would just compound the problem.
Nope, you're not the only one. I stopped playing my GBA for that very reason, and I find some of the controls on the DS to be unwieldly. Hey Nintendo - not everyone has the hands of a 6 year old girl.
Hopefully they won't make the same mistakes Nintendo did with the GBA. Build it with a back-light, and make sure it can be used with people who have hands larger than the average 5 year old kid.. I hardly ever use my GBA just because it's so uncomfortable to play it for any length of time. Especially if it uses the shoulder buttons.
> COPY PROTECTION AMOUNTS TO NOTHING MORE THAN A
PAIN IN THE A?? FOR LEGITIMATE USERS
Interestingly enough, the latest patch (1.23) for Neverwinter Nights removes the SecureROM copy protection. (Now you don't have to insert the "play disc" when you start the game)
I guess Bioware figured out just how annoying something that minor can be.
I use Proxomitron. Works like a charm, blocks pop-ups, blocks ads, freezes animated GIFs. You can specify exceptions to the rules, and add new rules for anything that isn't flagged by the defaults. (I haven't had to add anything yet)

Nice summary, it doesn't even mention the actual name. (Barbaturex morissoni)
I mis-clicked my moderation, hitting 'overrated' instead of 'funny', and that's the only damn reason I'm replying to this thread.
You know you don't need to press Ctrl for sysrq combos right?
You might. For instance, under KDE or Gnome where hitting Alt-Printscreen/Sysrq might just cause a screenshot to be dumped. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key
If it's supported in your kernel. Fedora and Ubuntu kernels, by default, do not (part of why I run my own kernel).
I'm running Ubuntu Server (precise, 12.04.2 LTS) and SysRq is enabled by default.
I don't need a new console (I have an xbox 360). What I need is more *games* for it.

Seems to me like you should be more afraid of your legislators.

AT power had a physical disconnect. ATX is "soft" power. You can control the 4 second delay in most BIOS settings; instant-off or delay.
Great, we should all move there!
