Except in the great, rebellious state of Georgia. A republican can walk into the primary, vote the democrat ticket, then in the fall can vote the Republican ticket.
Allows all voters the opportunity to vote in November from the best offerings of the two major parties.
Some folks on both sides switch hit to put up a weak candidate for the opposition. I prefer to do it so that I can have the best from the other side should my party not win.
However, in THIS presidential primary, because a number of honest, highly qualified men did not even make it to "super Tuesday" on the Democratic ticket (Sorry, Joe, I'd have voted for you), there really was no reason to vote the blue ticket. Kerry seems to have things wrapped up. But the party bosses planned it that way. *sigh*
But hey, we got to vote for the lesser of two evil flags in Georgia. Because, after all, FLAGS are so much more FREAKING IMPORTANT then law and order, corporate corruption investigations, and national security!
Took the threat of lawsuits in our country (Fayette County, GA) for the cable company that had bought 2 local cable companies to acknowledge their committment to bring broadband down here.
That was nearly 5 years ago. From the cableco's website, nearly half the county still cant get broadband via cable.
I tend to agree with you on that. I am definitely NOT wrapped up in what the media thinks I am, or what society is told by the media I OUGHT to be.
I'm a 31 year old 'computer nerd'. When not at a PC working or gaming, I'm playing the banjo (yeah, a real hip instrument) or knee-boarding (yeah, that old 80s summer time sport) on the lake with my wife (pretty, smart wonderful girls CAN love a geek) and my kids, or in the off lake season, playing soccer.
I'm not making hundreds of dot.com dollars a year, but nor am I putting in the 80-90 hours a week either. But I get a heck of a lot of free time to spend with the family and friends.
If I were the fat slob that the media likes to think that ALL geeks are, I'd be into my first heart bypass and wondering how much longer that ticker was going to hold.
I've recently evaluated wireless audio/video systems. After testing 5 different systems ($150-$600), I came to the realization...run cable.
The microwave kicks on, TV/audio goes nuts. Phone rings, same thing. Even if you unplug everything electrical around you...odds are you still won't be happy with the quality.
If a Woman can be kept off a plane for a heated jacket with wires protruding, how are geeks going to explain to airport security why their shirts are beeping?
I'm missing something with this category. Why not call the manufacturer and ask them how they do it? Maybe get a set from them to demo and test. See if YOU can hear the difference.
Key provisions of the Patriot Act are set to expire next year. (Democratic Applause.) The terrorist threat will not expire on that schedule. (Republican Applause.) Our law enforcement needs this vital legislation to protect our citizens. You need to renew the Patriot Act. (Republican Applause.)
Think its in the US Bill of Rights next to "right to healthcare", right to "no interest down home loans", right to "everything everyone else has" and right "not to work if I dont want to but you need to help take care of me".

I've been using it since the first release. I use it because it builds nice fast executables. For log processing utilities you want to be able to run on any ms os, it works great.
Some of us still use bnetd despite blizzards arrogant assault on the project. We dont WANT to connect to Blizzard's Disconnecting, Buggy, Spam filles servers to have a friendly Internet match.
Same goes for the other games we play round the offices (multinational).
Very true, In Chicago, breathing voters are disqualified. Only the dead need attend.

Evian, Duarf, Xaoh....
All of my attorney clients use wordperfect in one version of the other.
I recently lost my last WP 5.1 user when her latest laser printer refused to behave like the HP4 it claimed to emulate.
She moved on to one of the newer GUI based version.
Personally, I still have WP5.1 installed on my Linux laptop. Its a nice, small wordprocessor that runs under a dos emulator just fine.

If you were still in the 90 days since purchase, and bought on a CC you might have been able to charge it all back.
In Greece you need to grease some palms to get anything done, or to keep from being done.
The entire culture is based upon graft.
From the street cops to the border guards.
Except... When the officer drove up, the gentleman was NOT IN the vehicle.

Errant crackle and pops just ruin it all.
Man A reads code.
Man A documents ideas, processes.
Man B reads ideas, processes.
Man B writes new code.
However, throw tainted code for Man A to read into the mix, and you need to hire an army of attorneys.
*toss* 2 Cents.
I agree. The last linux distro I needed to grab came off a bittorrent. Didnt have any problems. Came down around 200kbs or so.
I had never heard of this feat. I asked around (friends and coworkers) and nobody else I've talked to has heard of them either.
That's because in Soviet Russia, moon rovers learn about YOU!
Sorry...couldn't resist.
Thats because Resistance is futile!
No, they just don't like to be sued for blatently bad information.

Shouldn't even acknowledge them unless its in writing, signed, and stamped by a judge.

SCO doesn't employ anyone in the IT industry.
They are subsidizing the LAW industry!

While the parent was marked funny, it is laughable that throwing more money at education might result in smarter kids.
Extra money seems to go to football stadiums, and condoms, and milk programs and extras and not to actual education.
