I'v been using the GPS (not tower based) in my I88s for over a year now in wardriving. One less piece of equipment I needed with me when roaming around.

Just switched from Nextel (tired of a year of misbilling each and every month) to Tmobile. Going to ebay the I88s and go by a dedicated GPS unit I suppose.

The server permissions were a big selling point for me. I run a family webserver and some test applications from time to time from home.

As for the bandwidth, never have had a problem. Would like unlimited newsgroup access (1gb limit per month) but thats ok. I have a couple of VPNs that are always moving data from here to the office or to client locations.

You can provide paid WAP services to your neighbors if you so desire in their NetShare program. (

And did I mention the price break those in the over $100 a month range got 3 months ago? Out of the blue its announced that the 1.5/768 packages will cost less each month.

    Standard referal program as well.

All in all, I agree with the parent poster. Good company, good customer service. Looking forward to another year with them.

    BIG BUT...

Nextel "customer service" has been trying to get us to leave since then. EVERY monthly bill has been wrong since then. Minutes disappear. Minutes being charged for even if IN the promo time periods. Late notices POSTMARKED THE DAY BEFORE THE BILL was shipped out!!! Class action law suite filed against them for overcharging Federal fees.

In 5 years I called about 2 technical service problems. A tower was out one day for about 3 hours. And I had a question about the GPS almanac updates on their network. 2!!! technical problems in 6 years total!! And great service where I travel. And the radios were not just a "cool factor" for us. They really did allow us to work better and more efficiently here.
