And the biggest issue here is the lack of internet access for citizens? That's really like no news. The internet hasn't been that long with us so how can you even think that it could be available in a such poor and controlled country. What you should be conserned about is their basic needs, food, healthcare, farming machinery etc. Of course internet, if it was available for them by some miracle, could help them break free from the crazy leader but still, that's like climbing to a tree backwards.
No, it really isn't when you have to build an organization, pay sallaries, start production, actually produce those Segways, market them, storage them, shipp'em, etc..

"linux-jkrise" search returned nothing and recompiling kernel isn't rocked science. That ain't wildy successfull open source project that needs to be lead somehow. And because there are more creators than one, you think Jani is not suitable for the task? wtf?

It might because then you'd have to provide computers so that agents could use'em to rea... Oh wait, you'd first have to teach'em to read - education costs.

I would've thought that anyone who works in an university and is capable of setting up the mentioned systems would also be capable of answering this question.
..so you savings which come from not buying MS Windows & Office are calculated but what about the costs which come from having to learn a new operating system and office suite? What about productivity?
I used to use Debian unstable so that I'd have the latest and the greatest but then realized that I prefer stable over broken system, so I went ubuntu. Now I even have to wait for 6 months for new programs and I really don't mind as long as it works.
So it depends from what point of view you look at it. To a non-geek that would no support at all.

Never the less, if you say that FreeBSD isn't a distro how can jaseuk's comparison on FreeBSD vs. RedHat and Debian be right. It should be compared to all Linux distrobutions. That's what I have been trying to say, jaseuk started comparing FreeBSD to specific Linux distrobutions when flithm talked about BSD vs. Linux.
Did anybody else follow the links which point to the source of the article?

which has a link to a story

The original doesn't have an image nor video but as story it's far better than the article (rip off) mentioned in slashdot story.

Yeah, $138m isn't very much money.

That would be a good way to ask but you should have witnesses when asking if she turns out to be a bitch and sues you.

I guess it is but as you know, the site is down so I couldn't check it either. Tagged as oldnews.
is also under construction!
You know lot about people. From one comment!

Heh, I just about to write that hands up all of those who were ready to make test when they clicked on the link. So, yes, you're not the only one.

I have workrave running on my computer. It's great!

Regular as in average joe, not in as joe$. Most regular users run their own machines so they have to be root sometimes.
I don't believe gp was login in, it's the gksudo equilevant in kde that doesn't work. I've had the same problem with gksudo.
Your advice is way too complex for any regular user.

Yes you are. Read the article. Informative my ass..
but no word about chandler. When it matures, it should be a killer email application.

And I wouldn't want to be tied to only wifi access.

Your comparison would only be true if English was a language for which you had to pay to use and it would tie you only using it.
