This is a huge concern for me. I have ordered a 12" PB as a test - hoping to offer the 12" PB as an alternative to the TP X42 for some executives who travel often. No docking station is going to be a huge entry barrier =(
No, at an institute of higher learning, the majority of the class should pass. Any class given where the majority should fail would be considered fraud.
I recently received three (3) HD-DVR boxen from Comcast. These are the Moto jobbies, 80 gigs, single tuner. I run one on a projector, the other two on 32" cheap-o Samsung tubes. Picture is great, interface is trash.
They are OK for now, but they have none of the features of TiVo. I am keeping two TiVo until they get the interface right, or TiVo releases a stand-alone HD box which I would buy in a second.
I found a memory card once. I was on the beach in Mexico, and it was 100% empty. An hour later, this couple walks past... Back and forth, like they are looking for something. At the time I thought nothing of it. It was getting warm, so the female takes off her shirt and puts on her swim top (wish I had a camera).
Hours later we leave, and what do I see in the rocks, looking like it has been beaten by the surf for years? An old Kodak DC-something or other. It is nasty, but I open the memory card slot - bingo, a CF card. It is at this point I put two and two together, it has to be this couple. Sadly I never saw them again. But I did take the card home.
Well over 500 pictures, not just one year, but several years of pictures. All taken at medium res on a large capacity card - they had never erased a single picture. Pictures from several vacations, pictures at birthday parties, pictures of at least four different international trips. Pictures in clubs, pictures in cabs.
While I would never post them on the web, I would love to be able to return them. I tried everything - zoom in on magazines that might have a name and address on the mailing label. No license plates, nothing that would allow me to identify an owner. The only thing I am sure of is that they live in Europe...
Warm and fuzzy is what sells. But they could have gone about their usability issues in other ways. I have written similar code and implemented it correctly, I'm sure they could have if they had spent enough time/$$.
Just a reminder that the Empeg (Linux based car MP3 player) creators work for Rio creating these. Support your friends =)

HIGH FLIGHT
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there, I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung My eager craft through footless halls of air. Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace Where never lark, or even eagle flew And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God. - John Gillespie Magee, Jr., (killed in the Battle of Britain, age 19)
I went to a state school, but one that has CASB/ABET accreditation (pretty rare - only one in the state system to have it).
Our math requirements are now four classes Calc I or above. So pretty much Calc I and Calc II, and then two more - such as some high level logic courses, discreet stuff, etc.
Now... How much Calc have I used? I actually pulled out a Calc book once when I was coding. No lie! But only once. The logic stuff helps, not in a "you will use this" way, but in the "it teachs you to think like... " type of way.
I don't know about you, but I pay just $20/month more than you do here in Philly, and I have cable modem, HBO, Showtime, HDTV digital cable box, etc. Pretty happy really.
We are a large company, and similar incidents have run in the $20-$30k range. It could be much higher - we are fairly mature when it comes to protecting ourselves. Much of the problem comes from people bringing virus/worms in from home, consultants, and systems that we do not manage directly.
Give me a decent quality mp3 or other format with NO DRM for $.10-$.50 each and I will spend $10-$30 per month on music. Offer me this crap with DRM and I will spend zero.
Working pretty well on my BB - About one half block from exact location. Pretty cool for the price.
$20-$30 seems fair... I'm sure they won't resell them. Snort.

I almost always have one Co-Op (paid) on staff at all times. Being in a large city might help.

If the majority of the class failed, then the professor failed YOU.
I know, I know, it was a typo... still funny.
I ran out of Empeg/Rio Car units, and need something for my new car. If this is even half as good as the Empeg, I'll be happy.

Probably for cheating in class...

Why? Because the average user (or OS or application) is not going to respond well to being returned garbage =)
Don't think that is enough to bring people to my "lovely" city.

Not true. Enter the dialing prefix #,401 and it works fine with wirless. Completed it this past weekend, confirmed, etc.
Stan Lee (As) Man Dodging Debris.
I'm glad he made it into the film again.

Wait, it looks cartooney? Kind of like a COMIC BOOK? Hmmm...
Boy, that was quick. 2 minutes? 3 minutes?

It was a statement, not a comment about this service. Settle down.
