    Locks only keep the casual criminal honest. If someone wanted into your house, they could get in with out a key (bust the door down, break a window, pick the lock). This tech would just up the IQ requirement if they try picking the lock.

    Figure out what file format you are going to use and what information you need to maintain to display a 3d object. Also remember tha current versions of Max and Maya were not written from scratch rather, there have been several incantations. Maybe you should target the feature set of early modelers and then revision up to current standards.

    I was dead set against diamonds way before I met my wife. Luckily, she agreed that burning half a years salary on something that small and had no applicable use was a waste of money. Instead we opted for multi-metal bands that give the impression of wood grain. Every ring is unique and hand crafted. Here is the link to where we got ours.

    Isn't this a problem faced by most software projects? Stabilize resent release (bug/feature fix) or move team to next version/revision.

    I would recommend dividing the team up.

    Right now, its called a PC with various add-on boards, but when will it be available for under $200 and the size of a VHS tape? Is there a company working on said device?

    This could be expanded to pass the values need to build up the email address.

    Maybe some company could come up with a memorystick cell phone expansion device. Sony has already created bluetooth, camera, and microphone memorystick modules.

    Does the spinning disk have to be attached to what is above it? This could be used as a launch pad to break free of gravity.

    Can forged headers constitute mail fraud? Identity theft? misrepresentation? Since some (if not most) Spam is sent in a manor to hide the identity of the sender, is it not covered by some existing law. People treat Spam as unsolicited, but its deliver may be more suspect, and in this case, more attackable.

    Most stereos are right next to a TV. Just use TV out instead of a mini monitor that that may be unreadable.

    Is there a secret society of Grand Master programmers that use the results of this contest to test new initiates? Using only a ball of twine, a gumdrop, and a used stamp, with ten minutes on the clock, they are asked what the source code would do. Correct answers gain entry, will failed responses fate the initiate to forever program in JavaScript (or maybe VB).

    Because everyone knows, grand master programmers don't need comments.

    I just wish I didn't work with grand master wannabes.

    Check out Sony's Clie. They have a couple of version that play MP3s and an adapter for the ones that don't. While they don't come near the 5gb of the ipod, they do suppory memorysticks, which 5 gb worth might equal the size of the ipod.

    Everything I needed to know, I learned playing video games:

    Knock over everything, you never know what will hide a power-ups.

    Pick up everything that isn't nailed down, its bound to be useful later. Horde

    Save often.

    Don't just look straight ahead, look up, down, and all around.

    Use the right tool for the job

    Use items together to make new items

    exploit your opponents weakness

    Learn from your opponent's stratagy

    Don't give up

    Some scenerios to think about:

    Smartest person alive creates robot with 99.9% intelligence of creator. Said person dies, robot mass-produces. They are now smarter than all existing humans. All your base are belong to us.

    Ten people create robot with 99.9% of the collective intellegence of group. Robot is duplicated ten times. Advantage robots.

    Being smarter doesn't always beat the faster, the bigger, or the armored exoskeletoned

    Seeing how I read all four of the exisitng Harry Potter books on my Palm, I am all for the ftfth book going straight to ebook. The addition of sound and video would be interesting. Here is my take on where I would like to see these enhancements put to use.

    Name pronunciation - I know I am not the only one who simplifies names they can't pronounce in the Wheel of Time series or others.
    Mood music - Wouldn't mind some type of background mood music.
    Hyperlinks to definitions - When authors invent words, a popup with the definition would be nice.
