Max Payne is one of those games where you literally forget you're playing a game. It's that good and realistic. The first one had a good, solid plot, which in my opinion makes a game worthwhile to play.
It's going to be the longest short wait ever for me until Max Payne 2 comes out, I'm just hoping it's as good as it sounds and can live up to the reputation the first one got.
I can honestly say the only thing I know about third-world countries is what I learned in school from textbooks that were grossly outdated. I know that some parts of third-world countries probably aren't too far off when compared to some parts of America, but I also know that some parts are extremely impoverished and lack all the basic amenities that I have in America.
Things like clean drinking water is something I take for granted here but I realize if I went to Mexico, I would have to worry about my health if I drank the water there.
Some people would probably say that's just because of my weak Americanized immune system, but do you really see many people getting sick from drinking the water in America?
But still, these people still need basic infrastructure, like clean running water, hospitals, electricity, and a working sanitation system.
However, I could see this useful for a doctor who may be visiting a rural community to see a patient. Say this patient has a disease he has never seen before, the doctor could talk to doctors in other cities to get their opinions and even said back pictures of the patient, allowing for a correct and accurate diagnosis of the patient.
Wouldn't that require some intelligence by the user? I mean like not sharing their file library? It's not like the RIAA can just go into people's homes and start busting open computers for pirated music.
But of course lightning laughs at your puny rubbers.
That's why I use Trojan (TM) brand rubbers to protect myself in all those "sticky" situations, especially the ones that cause me to exert large amounts of energy.
Most magazines have websites that say whats in the latest issue anyhow. I don't really see keeping them behind the counter as much of a problem. The stores could atleast keep the covers in good view so you could read the latest "What's In This Issue" blurb.
It's one thing to photograph a 100 page magazine where half the pages are ads, but do you really think people will sit there in the store undetected while they take pictures of all 900 and some pages of the new Harry Potter book?
Simple solution if they don't want people browsing the magazines with the risk of them photgraphing them, put them behind the counter.
Well that would explain why at work I get a new 17" iMac instead of one of the new G5's. I knew my boss was cheap and thought I was worthless but I was only asking for a lousy $2,000 computer! It would also explain why I still use the keyboard I spilled soda on over a year ago, even though they supposedly ordered a new one last December.
Not to be flamebait or anything but he kinda has a point. After all what's wrong with just sitting at home and playing multiplayer games over the internet?
Hook a high voltage source of any kind (high tension power line or electrical transformer(the kind you see on poles)) directly up to the electrical circuit of the room or the building or hell you could probably get away with doing it to the entire block if you had a powerful enough source of electricity. So I guess if you do it right it'd more or less render every electrical appliance in the building/block/room/whatever useless, rather than just the computer he's at.
Note: Playing with high voltage sources can kill you, don't try it. Plus I'm pretty sure mucking with power lines and/or blowing up equipment this way warrants jail time.
Just have him sit at one of these computers downloading this "copyrighted" material, and remotely destroy it using powerful electrical charges. Piece of cake. No more whack job senator.;)
Yeah looks like a dupe to me. Here is the link to the previous story.
I guess the only difference is that story is for version 7.10 and this appears to be for version 7.11 but it still deals with version 7 being released.
Wouldn't it be cool if someone organized a religion and then created a business underworld to avoid the government ala scientology?
That actually perfectly describes Catholocism(and nearly every other major religion). TV evangelists, religious TV stations, that nun on that one channel selling beads all makes money for the church in the end. But hey I guess they need to make living too.
How about data backup? Backing up large databases everyday on one of these would be a lot nicer than having to do it on hard drive. Plus DVD's have a long life expectancy where a hard drive could fail whenever it wanted to. These DVD's will probably be alot cheaper as well, judging by how cheap current DVD's are.
From day one Network Solutions has been horrible. Their customer service sucks. Because of their f-ck ups in the early days it is now nearly impossible to get information changed on an older domain. Compared to other companies, their prices are shit. And because of all this they ended up causing lawsuits. I'm just happy that now(or for the past few years) there is more than one choice for registering a domain name.
This is crazy but it'd work. Print every frame out one by one. This comes out to something like 70,200,000 pieces of paper, which as long as kept away from open flame, sunlight, moisture, wind, etc will essentially last forever. Plus the bragging rights for having a huge pile of paper is cool. (23,400 feet high to be exact given that paper is 0.004 inches thick, of course quality of paper will affect this.;-)
What happened to the days of using a VCR? Yes its not cool or geeky or even the best quality but it certainly suffices for tape delaying a show. Plus a good VCR costs like $60 nowadays with tapes to be had for under a buck. Cheap and a tried a true technology(plus no monthly fee!).

Once again a simple Google search could have answered your question. :-)

So apparently I was the only one who got register.com's homepage instead of his when I clicked it? Thats what I was referring to.
The site is great. It even offered me my own domain name for a really really low price.
Wouldn't that require some intelligence by the user? I mean like not sharing their file library? It's not like the RIAA can just go into people's homes and start busting open computers for pirated music.
Most farmers won't stop the tractor for anything smaller than a cow anyway. The crop gets cleaned eventually anyway.

What? Your commute doesn't take three days?

Upon further checking I saw that that story talks about the Windows release and Linux beta. My bad. ;)

There's not an organized society for the Jedi religion like there is for other larger religions is there???

You do realize that at one time there were engineers who did not work on computers or have anything to do with computers, right?
