I can almost see the day when I will turn off the television for good and I used to buy a lot of movies but now that is rare. The entertainment industry is walling itself off from it's own audience. I don't see how that is going to help them. All the technology is focused on the people who do not buy, the people who do buy keep getting shafted so they will stop buying also. DRM won't save the industry once it no longer has an audience.
Police resources are abused by police for their own purposes on a regular basis. An abusive spouse who is also a police officer would have unfettered access to information on the whereabouts of their victims. This scenario alone should be enough to can this proposal, but it probably won't be.
Can we get everyone in China with a phone to text the word FREEDOM to everyone they know just to bug the eavesdroppers? Personally, given a choice between the government reading all my electronic communication versus occasionally encountering porn, I'm sure I would choose porn. It must be horrible to be part of the government of China and be so afraid of your own people.
I used to use mythtv but now have upgraded to HD cable box with dual tuner pvr. It is the best option for ease of use. Skipping commercials isn't automatic but otherwise I think it is the best price/simplicity option.
Giving a panic button to an ideal child might work, but I have yet to come across an ideal child. All the children I've met would think, push button - get attention!
Now you can be tracked via your book! What a great idea if you're Big Brother! If you're a reader this should put a last nail in the coffin of electronic books. Anyone who buys an ebook now is an idiot.
This is Microsoft's wet dream. Every time someone uses their software, kaching! they get money. It would be an absolutely perfect business model if there was even one person in the world stupid enough to buy into it. Every time Microsoft introduces a new and more onerous 'innovation' it just sends more people looking for a way out. *Hint* just use Open Office for free!
As soon as one city can demonstrate how a wifi infrastructure can benefit a city by more than the investment to build and maintain it, then all cities will have them. So everyone who wants city wide wifi should band together and designate a few specific small cities in which to build and demonstrate the business case for city wide wifi.
Why don't they open source the game software and sell subscriptions to the server. That way the more the game is shared the more people will buy subscriptions to the server. Also they can offload development costs partly onto the community. It's a win win situation. The more 'piracy' the better. Oh, too simple. Sorry.
Move to Canada.

All space craft have trouble with them.

Maybe they didn't die out, maybe they went somewhere with less hostile neighbours.
Why paint a racehorse to look like a nag? Nostalgia?
Good, now the pope can finish the job and shut up.
Bathing the cosmos in infrared light? Did NASA launch an intergalactic flash light?

Find a pirate vessel, sink it. Don't look for survivors. Soon there will be no more pirates.

It's also a ringing endorsement of open source. Microsoft can't do any better so they steal it, as usual.
I guess this is what is was like watching the last few mastodons lumbering off a cliff, confident there was food at the bottom.
At least make some attempt to be correct before criticising someone else.
When you eat 35,000 calories a day, a little exercise isn't going to make much difference.
If you build it, they will come. In this case they're coming anyway, you better build something quick!
Americans make the best butt plug!
I'm using amd64 9.10 with dual monitors and it is relatively self configuring. So far no big problems that would lead me to regret upgrading.
Apple wants to own your soul. You have to use their hardware for that to happen.

By the same reasoning building roads promotes drunk driving!
