    What's scary is how accurately that star is to be able to hit the radio telescope, especially since the radio signal is so strong that it's visible!

    I think it's generally agreed by both sides that it would have been ideal if Apple had explained what was going on and provided a switch. The question here is whether lack of such warrants the government getting involved. I would say no.

    I'm right there with you. The problem is these days everyone seeks a political solution or a legal solution. Acting ethically would have helped to avoid the entire issue.

    But what I considered most important -- making it through my day's activities on one charge -- was the way it was acting. I'm glad Apple installed this change. I appreciate the change. The only fault that I see is that Apple didn't tell us. The fact that they made the change benefited me. I really don't care that they didn't tell me; it just would have been nice.

    Therein lies the problem. For some people, performance is more important than battery life. Apple could have avoided this entire mess if they had simply made it an option that the users could choose, instead of making the decision for them.

    I am 100% in favor of Net Neutrality, the Paris Accord, Common Core and a $15 Minimum Wage in New York & California. Let them lead the nation, and we'll see how well those policies work out. That's the idea behind federalism, where the states can be labs for democracy.

    At least in the US, a larger percentage of the citizens have been convinced that private corporations can only do good, and government can only do bad.

    I think the majority distrust both, but we have a choice in what corporations we deal with. Neither Google nor MasterCard are going to show up at our house unexpectedly with a S.W.A.T. team & kill us.

    You're right. The government should step in and create a system, but I don't see that ever happening in the US.

    The only system the government would come up with would let both the corporations and the government be able to track all of your purchases.

    You're already in control of who sees photos you're tagged in. You can chose to review them before release, as well. The photo will still be on Facebook, but your friends/girlfriend/whoever won't see that you're tagged in it, and unless they're friends with the poster, they won't see it at all.

    My point is that if someone posts your photo without your permission, it won't be seen at all by anyone, not just the poster's friends.

    If they give you the option to block the photo, it could be very useful. You get notifications if someone tags you in a photo, but what if someone uploaded a less than flattering photo of you and doesn't tag it. An ex-boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse or something like that which you might not see. If people have to approve photos of them before the photo got posted to a timeline, it might also help slow down the mass of info being posted.

    You're confused, because Kennedy and especially LBJ (who did the most for civil rights in response to MLK) were democrats. The fact that LBJ gave people their rights is the whole reason why the south flipped.

    You're confused, rights (for the most part) are inherent. If something's given to you, it's an entitlement.

    Now, let's see what happens over the next year or so. And yes, a us presidents actions normally take 6-12 months to take hold. And since trump has not pass a single item that really impacted the economy, this remains Obama's.

    He has removed a bunch of anti-business regulations that Obama had put in place by Executive Order, so there's that...

    Compared to the size of the population, isn't that a rounding error at best?

    Not for 228,000 those people. Besides, not all people work. You have retirees, permanently disabled & children that don't participate in the workforce, so the impact is more significant that you might think, especially since it's just one month.

  25. That seems to be what politics has done the last 30 years. Apparently wiping out humanity is some secret goal of politics. After attempts to sterilize the planet with nukes have failed, global warming seems to be the fallback-plan.

    It's ironic, because most global warming alarmists also global population alarmists.
