This story perfectly illustrates why the climate agreement is completely useless.
Oh yeah? Looks like Barry & Barney were right after all. There have been ZERO terrorist attacks in Europe or the United States since they signed this sucker!
No one - including the 150+ IQ genius - is good at something before time and effort have been invested into excelling at that something. You may scoff at the 10000-hours idea, but I challenge you to show one example of someone being fantastic at what he/she's doing right from the start, without countless hours of practice and study being invested in their craft.
What about this guy? Sure, an exception to the rule, but still, an exception.
Meanwhile employees had their remote-work privileges revoked, allowing them to watch this slow-motion trainwreck of a CEO up close. And employees were recently asked by Mayer to reup for a long-term commitment to the company. Where does this leave all of them?
At least she's easy to look at. I'd hate to go through all of this while looking at Michael Dell or someone like that.
Did you ever stop to think that maybe he's right? That the regional disruptions caused by a rapidly changing environment combined with unsuccessful integration of migrants into their adoptive societies might actual fuel the despair and hatred that allows some people to turn on their neighbours and murder them for stupid ideological reasons?
Have you ever thought that it could be more complicated than "evil people do evil things, and if we just kill all the evil people, then we win"?
This explanation conveniently ignores all of the U.S.'s repeated interference in the area. But that doesn't fit the left's narrative *now*, since their guy is the one dropping the bombs, so move on to the next big issue on the agenda. Terrorist attacks on US soil are labeled gun violence because of work disputes, just like they did with the Ft. Hood shooter. Don't address the problem, redefine it.
The environmentalists are going to complain it doesn't go far enough and the politicians in all of the countries that matter are just going to ignore it or cheat it.
But I imagine it's only going to take a couple of hours to get the compiler running on Linux, so the question becomes: is it worth learning, and what is there to gain for an old school C programmer who doesn't particularly enjoy C++ ?
I've only written a couple of apps using it, but I found the syntax to be much more straight forward than either C++ or Objective C. It was pretty easy to pick up on.
If the OP broke five PS2s then that's not down to the minor quality issues Sony had with early models, that's his kids putting pop-tarts in it.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have both a PS1 & PS2 that are still in great working condition. Not sure how all these people are breaking their consoles, but it's not through ordinary use.
I'm actually strongly in favor of using genetic manipulation to improve foods. But as long as the companies developing the technology continue to treat it as something to be concealed from consumers, how do they expect to win hearts and minds?
I don't see what all the hoopla is about. We don't need GMO labeling when there's already a free, voluntary alternative: NON-GMO labeling. When I go to the store, I pretty much assume that any product I buy contains GMOs unless a product specifically says on the label that it doesn't contain GMOs. Crazy, I know. What the anti-GMO crowd is hoping to do is scare people who don't know and most likely don't care if food is GMO or not.
What free speech is being limited? You agreed to the terms and conditions of whatever social media site you signed up for, and are bound by those terms.
You don't like the censorship?
Your questions are at odds with one another. You deny free speech is being limited, but then admit to it with the second question.
You conveniently left off the bolded part. Say you set up a reservation with a fancy restaurant and they told you suit & tie are required. Can you really complain when they refuse to seat you if you're not wearing a suit & tie?
"People who don't like what I like are stupid." NASCAR is probably the most science/engineering oriented sport out there. Every variable is a factor from length, slope, temperature & curvature of track, weather conditions, in addition to the thousands of variables that go into the car itself. Pit stops including how much fuel & # of tires to change are all very accurately calculated to gain an advantage on their competitors. If anything NASCAR could be used to encourage scientific & engineering education.
All the electricity the turbine generates, which gets converted to heat in the atmosphere eventually
Yeah, but what if you used all the electricity the turbines generated to power robotic logging machines that clear cut trees and then burn the trees the just cut down. Then he'd be right, wouldn't he?!?
ISIS has said they have several hundred operatives coming in with refugees. What reason have we to doubt that, especially now?
Yeah... what reason do we have to doubt people who kill people solely for propaganda?
Sure they wouldn't stoop down to !GASP!... lying?
Whoever heard of lying for propaganda, right?
One of the attackers was identified as one of those Syrian refugees. That doesn't mean that the majority of the refugees are terrorists, nor even a sizable minority, but the argument does seem to have some merit.
I've been to LP meetings in multiple states, and they are nothing like that. You either get pro-gun Democrats, or toll-sidewalk conservatives.
I've been to LP meetings in multiple states, and they are nothing like that. You either get people who want to be free from government coercion, or people who want to be free from government coercion. I realize it's crazy. Why wouldn't anyone prefer to live in a world where most of our actions are either banned or mandatory? It's because we realize that compassion doesn't come from the barrel of the government's guns.
The problem I have with libertarians is that their ideal would not hold. A lack of government mostly means that whoever is economically stronger will be able to force its will onto everyone economically weaker. And in our society this means pretty much what the GP said. Corporations will be able to dictate the way things are run.
That explains why corporations pour so much money into elections on behalf of Libertarian candidates!
This is what I don't understand. Which industry is doing this? Is it the industry that has huge sums of wealth and would be hurt by reducing the use of fossil fuels? Because I don't know another industry that could bring that much economical and political power to bear.
Other "industries" that could bring that much economical & political power: government & schools, followed closely by Hollywood & media. Or do you think people in those places have pure motives?
Sounds like a good way to screw someone over...
Just buy a drone, register it under your enemy's name...and then fly it into an airport.
At that point, they appear on all sorts of governmental lists, no fly...no buy weapons...etc.
And those are virtually impossible to get yourself off of....
Hopefully someone will register one on behalf of U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx!

Strangely, none of these questions come to mind when I think about Meg Whitman.
That's not strange, that's perfectly normal.
That voice though - she sounds like Marge's sisters from the Simpsons.
I could deal with that. If she had one of those Kardashian voices though, that would be impossible.

You're mistaken. The main goal of this treaty is to stop TERRORISM, because you know, global warming caused the Paris attack. Feel the Burn!

Where do you think the US government's revenue comes from?
Yeah, but when the US government does it, it's *different*.

Did "clock boy" win?
What do you think this is, the Nobel Prize committee?
If Fox could rise to the standards of TMZ it would represent a sea change for that organization.
I think you just proved their point...
Yes, you are correct, GP is mistaken.

To be clear, I mean 10mg is enough for me. Everyone reacts to drugs differently.
