I live in Rochester, NY, and you know who's going to get hurt the most out of this? Not Time Warner -- it's Microsoft and Apple.
Xbox Gold is now too expensive. So long to that. I can't afford the bandwidth for downloading demos and games on Xbox Live, especially when it's going to cost $1/gb once I hit my first 75gb for the month. I might as well unplug my 360 from the router. That's a couple of hundred dollars a year that Microsoft lost from me.
Using iTunes is now too expensive. I similarly can't afford to buy albums and videos from Apple. That's about a hundred bucks a year that Apple lost from me.
Time Warner may lose me as a customer, but that means they're losing the $45/month I'm paying them now for high speed Internet.
Why isn't Microsoft and Apple bitching their heads off about this? Do they not get it?
And that's not an exaggeration. When they came out to announce that they only had 30 PS3s, people went nuts. Trashing stuff, punching random people, it was crazy. They had to call a bunch of cops to get things under control.
It Is Just A Fucking Game, Damn It! I wish everyone would grow the fuck up.
I would think a Vectrex machine *itself* would be a 'holy grail' of sorts. I remember reading about it decades ago when I was a lad, but I still have never seen one in person, nor do I know anyone who even remembers that thing.
Anyone out there still own a working unit? Was/is it fun to play?
A whole generation of kids playing a video game instead of taking up the guitar.
Kinda like bragging about being a trackstar yet the only track you ever saw was Konami's Track n Field.
It's not like an entry level guitar and amp are that expensive.
Some of us have disabilities that prevent us from playing a real guitar but still permit (limited) console gameplay. That is why many of us play GH.
I, personally, was heartbroken last year when I discovered that my disability would prevent me from learning the guitar, a personal goal that I had just made months earlier. Guitar Hero, while nothing like the real thing, still gives me much enjoyment.
Harmonix, you are my true heroes.
P.S. The bit about "bragging about being a trackstar" reveals your true troll nature. I have never heard any GH player brag about being able to play a real guitar. Nice try, though.
I asked this very question before you did. The only difference is that I did not WRITE MY SUBJECT LINE IN ALL CAPS. Now I know the secret to having my question modded up. Thanks for illustrating that.
You must receive uncountable suggestions for myths to be busted. What was your favorite myth that you decided NOT to take on for some reason? Why did you reject it?
That's the same question I've been asking myself. I am a SWG veteran (or former victim, you be the judge) who joined just after it went live and quit 7 months later. It completely turned me off of MMOs...until my friends showed me WoW, which is everything an MMO is supposed to be.
Seriously, if you don't like SWG, then quit and join some other game. Instead of paying $15/month for the privilege to bitch and moan, pay $15/month to actually HAVE FUN. Take it from me: that's what I did.
What difference does this statement make? None at all. It's not like Sony will recall the millions of CDs out there with the malware.
This is just spin. Move along.
The article has nothing to do with Electronic Arts. It briefly mentions it in a couple of sentences (conveniently copied above) as an aside. That's all.
It's a good article, but come on, enough with the obligatory EA bashing.
OK, skip all the crazy stuff, just answer me this: Who is marrying who?
Correct.

...one of them must have a goatee. It's the law.
If I was a lesser known artist, I'd try to get all of my music into games. Hell, who had heard of Jonathan Coulton before Portal?
The tobacco industry claimed that great sex causes lung cancer.
The Commodore 64 was an awesome gaming platform with tons of buttons.

I didn't wait, and ended up with the incredibly unsatisfying ending that KOTOR2 shipped with. Waiting will be worth it, trust me.
I don't know whether to be sad that today's companies ship unfinished games or happy that today's games seem to be designed with fan mods in mind.

Unless he's in a comic book store or Vampire LARP, where everyone smells like french fries. Burger King is a frickin' ninja in those places.
Kari is the yummy redhead on Mythbusters.
Complain about the science all you want, slashdotters, I don't care. If Kari is busting the myths, I am so there.

My only question is, where's the Monty Python foot that belongs next to this article?
...sex hijacks YOU!
