Well, looking at the US deficit and debt, one could argue that the Tea Party might be loonies but at least it isn't their policy to spend their grandchildren's earnings.
It wasn't Bill Clinton's policy to spend his grandchildren's earnings either. He left office with the budget in balance.
It was George W. Bush's policy to spend that surplus on tax breaks for his billionaire friends, and then spend $3 trillion for a war in Iraq for the purpose of (what was it again?), most of which went to his no-bid contractors like Halliburton. Bush left us in debt that your grandchildren will be paying for.
The Tea Party is funded by the same loonies that got those no-bid contracts.
yeah man no bid contracts never go to Haliburton under Obama! He farts rainbows and rides a unicorn to work every day!
Okay, so I probably shouldnt even plug em seeing as I dont play the game anymore, but hey, when you're primo number one on the server and have officers whose guides are regarded as some of the finest in the game community, you gotta throw out the props.
www.pacifistguild.org
Check em out if you play WoW, their Onyxia and Ragnaros "bibles" are top notch.
And to keep on topic. The officers here are some of the best people (and players) I've ever encountered in a MMO. They listen, they make changes, and ultimately they dont do whats best for them (even though they could and we'd probably let em) they do whats best for the guild as a whole. Great bunch of guys, definately the best on WoW's Kel Thuzad realm.
Let me say this, I was in FilePlanets 4 day stress test two months ago, I got to level 18 in 4 days, and I loved every minute past level 4 (I was a warrior, they suck quite literally till they get a few abilities). The game is gorgeous. People complaining about the cartoonish looks have obviously NEVER played a Warcraft game. If it looked ANY DIFFERENT it wouldnt be WarCraft.
The game is very simple to learn, and always has me wanting more. I moved from CoH with 3 friends (trying to get my girl to move too grr...) and we all LOVE it. I have 4 characters already, and I dont care that in two weeks I'll have to start at square one on release, THIS GAME ROCKS!!!
Downsides: no talking, well, not like EQ2, but thats okay, they DO talk, just not as much.
Cannot speed up text for quests. I read faster than Blizzard "scrolls" the text, which is frustrating.
Cannot really start in same area. If you're a dwarf and I am an Elf, we can group, but not till about level 8-12 (note this takes about 3-4 hours, which isnt THAT bad, but still, its annoying).
Upsides. everything else. the quest system, the jokes (the human warrior tells a joke about a magical set of bracers, Master of the Bracers, yes, a LotR spoof!!!), the world (peasants, there are PEASANTS gathering wood!!!), everything.
I fully support Blizzards decision, in fact, they just recently banned FFA (free for all) griefers... its SOOO easy to get into a ladder FFA with a "friend" if you click on the play game button at about the same time, since there are relatively few FFA's at any given moment.
Just for clarification, this is your typical griefer:
game starts, they (depending on race) either destroy all their buildings, or hero rush your base, or build nothing but peons.
An older trick was the get this one wand that teleported a unit back to your town hall, and right before you finished "creeping" (killing neutral monsters for gold/experience) they'd teleport your hero back to base, get the item and the xp for your kill...
These arent people that "suck" at the game. These are the asshats that would join your Diablo 2 game with hacked characters and then kill you "because they could".
I've been to EB games on no less than 10 occasions and tried to play the demo system that they have out(and not the same EB everytime either). Not once have I ever gotten a game to work on the damn thing. Its either stuck in some sort of limbo, or in some weird mode, or just plain off.
Now, the GB SP that they display ALWAYS works, and requires no real thought to demo for 20 seconds.
I dont want a handheld that has to be babysat to work. Chances are, if I'm on my GB, I am out and about, and catching 5 minutes of Mario or Pokemon or something. I dont want 3 of those minutes fumbling with the system trying to get it to work.
Everytime I hear someone try to pin violence onto video games. Whats more bloody, watching the nightly news or pretend killing nazi's in Wolfenstein?
As a parent, its your responsibility to watch what little Billy is doing, and if you cant, to teach little Billy that killing is wrong.
If little Billy goes out and gets a gun and shoots people, its either cause he's messed up in the head, or you failed as a parent, not because the guy in Doom did it.
Heck, if you arent intelligent enough to seperate reality from fantasy (reality, killing bad... fantasy, killing acceptable) than you have deeper issues anyway.
From my cold lifeless hands before I'd ever give up on Nintendo.
Nintendo is the pinnacle of the console triangle, regardless of what "sales charts" may say. I can name more nintendo games that I wouldnt trade for anything than I can on PS2 or Xbox. They might not always be truly innovative (Mario Sunshine is more or less Mario 64) but in my humble opinion, FUN is the deciding factor.
I have "wasted" more hours in front of Mario Kart (both of them) than I care to admit, and you bet your sweet mushroom butt that I will have DD when it comes out... I cant name ONE game on either the PS2 or the Xbox that is so good I'd HAVE to have the system just for it (note, there ARE good games, but MOST of them ARENT exclusive... halo, KoToR, GTA, etc)...
You'll never see Mario on another system.
To hell with the 3rd party developers. 90% of the time, their games sucked anyway. (there were exceptions, Capcom, Konami, Rare...)
So if you rape someone, can you sue the Porn Industry because they sometimes portray rough sex?
If you run someone over in your car, can you sue the makers of Matchbox cars because you used to run over your GI Joes or whatever with them?
Lets just sue {insert deity here} for creating these people in the first place... maybe we should sue the aliens that put us here, or the cosmic rock dust or whatever it was...
These people need to be smacked. A good pimp smack.
I mean, what the hell? People have been shooting people for years, GTA is nothing new. Its just got better graphics.
Hands down, I have never not had fun with one of their games. Regardless of what their legal department does (which they probably have zero control over, since Vivendi most liely makes those decisions) I will always buy their latest and greatest...
If there was nothing harmful coming into contact with your computer, then it wouldnt need to be very secure.
But with constant threat of virus attacks, software developers (hopefully) write patches and fixes for exploits before they happen so that the end user can make their system safe.
Then again, if there WAS nothing harful coming to your computer, (as in, no hacker, no one unauthorized trying to get in, no virii, nothing) would it even NEED to be secure?
"On Monday, NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe told CNN's Miles O'Brien that the agency missed signs of trouble that led to the accident.
"This was a case where we missed it. Just flat missed it," he said of the significance of the foam strike. "
At least they arent trying to cover it up. Now they can move forward, and hopefully we'll continue to explore space even more proficiently than before.
Who knows, maybe our grandkids (or their grandkids) will get to land on mars!
Granted, its always nice when fiction has basis in reality, but come on, if we're going to believe that a guy gets mad and turns into a giant green tank smashing bad ass (not to mention that his PANTS stay ON), cant we just ENJOY it for what it is?
before the I get modded to oblivian, I've looked everywhere for the answer to this question... all I find is overclockers bragging about their 15C AMD1600+ OC'd to 3.5gHz, which doesnt help me...
I run an AMD 2600+, and it sits about 53-57C (its on a chaintch zenith 7jns board)... is that too hot?
I was thinkig of getting a water cooling system, but I dont know if its too hot or if I am just not used to a high powered AMD processor/mobile heating station...
Games like Natural Selection (naturalselection.org I think) and Return to Castle Wolfenstein are both excellent team oriented FPS that are team oriented (as opposed to say, a normal FPS where even if you have a Red vs Blue team, its not really "team work" that wins).
RTS games like SC or WC3 are good, although perhaps going with single player "adventure" games (with puzzles and such) and havng the team work as a group to solve the puzzles, with the winning team being the one to beat the game (or a set number of puzzles) first.
I like a previous posters idea of a "seperate room" thing, if you cant talk to each other, its hard to be a "team".
Well, looking at the US deficit and debt, one could argue that the Tea Party might be loonies but at least it isn't their policy to spend their grandchildren's earnings.

Cause you take One look at it then turn around 360 degrees and walk away.
RTS stands for "Real Time Strategy"...
how exactly would it be "real time" if you could pause?
Part of the challenge is learning to multi task effectively.
Okay, so I probably shouldnt even plug em seeing as I dont play the game anymore, but hey, when you're primo number one on the server and have officers whose guides are regarded as some of the finest in the game community, you gotta throw out the props.

I R BLIZZARD FANBOIII ONCE MORE!!
This game rocks
I played this during the E3 event they had a while back... graphically, it was very nice, but the game bored me to tears.
Note, I am an avid game player (everything by Blizzard, and a few MMORPGs, including WoW), and I was very excited about Guild Wars.
Its just not... fun.
This is actually old news, but hey, whatever...

Thats what I have a PC gaming rig for...
Did they re-encode them not to suck?
Revolutions was a trite piece of trash not worthy of the 8.50 I spent on tickets...
I liked number 1... I liked number 2...

direct from yahoo... hopefully, NBC will leave Blizzard the heck alone, and they can continue to pump out quality games.

"Whats wrong with Bill today, is he sick?"
"Yeah, he's at home, blogging up his guts."
"Oh, I hate it when I blog."
or
"OH MY GOD PULL OVER I AM GOING TO BLOG!!"
"BLOG!! BLOG BLOG!!! ugh, I dont feel well..."
"...Resistance is futile and we are now in control."
Someone has been watching too many Star Trek reruns...
So if P2P is the Borg, does that make the federation the future of the RIAA/MPAA??
Its 11:15 EST... Where the heck is our daily SCO story, huh?
