    I keep getting spam on it and was curious about it. The fact that I was revceiving spam on it gave me pause, but I figured I'd ask the slashdot crowd about my spam for some reason because PE is an acronym. Geeks like acronyms, don't we?

    Of course this begs the question: Did Cliff just get trolled?

    I'm not immune to this sort of behavior, though I do like to think that my case of consumeritis is a mild one. I spend way more than I need to on fishing tackle. Not to mention computer gear, and associated gadgets, and gizmos.

    I dunno about anyone else but I quite often get speeds over 1.5Mbps with my cable connection. I feel dirty all of a sudden.

    4 is accurate and you know it. If I had mod points, I wouldnt mod you down because you have many valid points, but there really are very few other reasons to post, these include, to inform others and to ask question, but 90% of slashdot posts are for the sake of one person, just like any other emotional/psychological crutch: the poster.

    They aren't abandoning word nesscessarily, they are archiving these particular files and they figure plain text is much more likely to stand the test of time then a propietary format.

    There was a whole bunch of people like that in my undergrad. It was really sad as they were all bright energetic people.

    Apparently they pissed off a couple of years of their lives in a drug-induced haze. They shot up in the school computer lab, so they almost never went home or had any social life outside of their group.

    Needless to say they had terrible grades. ONly one of them barely managed to graduate with a 2.0 GPA and he was the brightest of the lot. Another 3 are still there(recovering) and I think 3 dropped out.

    I only tried it for a few nights. I ended up shooting up until 7am neglecting the paper that was due later on that day.

    I got a D on that paper.

    I never used again after that.
