By Chance do you work for Palm Inc? I know that urgent tickets pertaining to error 3000 from their major MR fix for the Treo 700P took months instead of days. Just curious.
I think after the MR (Maintenance Release) by palm for both Sprint and Verizon the Treo 700P(alm) platformat comes in last. I say this because after this update not only does it fix little bugs but causes even bigger ones. The #1 issue now is the fact that the MR has destablizied the data connection. I personally received my replacement phone from Verizon on Friday with the MR already installed. The phone was solid for two days and now I cant even connect. Not intermittenly connect which is typical of the "Error 3000" we get after the update. But Zero connectivity at all. People are scrambling to get a phone with an older revision on them (1.06 Verizon, 1.08 Sprint). As one person puts it, having no data is a show stopper for me. Its insane as whats happened to palm. So Im curious who other Palm Treo 700p users on here that can confirm this.

So if this device cant connect to the internet its obvious that it can't even compete. I think Palm has the best viewing on a portable device since I have my work blackberry to compare it to. But what good is it if the phone cant even connect to the internet. Its not verizon's fault on this (totally). Its Palm's fault for not doing enough TESTING before this. I use to be a T-mobile customer when it was VOICESTREAM. Their plans were good for me and coverage was pretty solid. The reason why the $10 I suspect is when you walk into a T-mobile HOTSPOT (aka Starbucks) this is part of a dataplan.. I suspect.. Because when I was part of the Tmo hotspot i paid $20 so I could link up. What I think is when your phone roams on their network it auto logs you in/authenticate via the internet.. And you are in. I was with a friend of mine in Washington/Bellevue area where Tmobile has a monstrous presence there. He showed me how he was beta testing this phone which they are now producing.. Its a pretty nifty idea. But I am still waiting on their Wireless high speed network (like vzw/sprint)
As a frequent business traveller who gets 24-48 hour notices for work in other states this will not fly and all us business travellers could be flagged.
Actually as a Neo Geo MVS(Arcade) and AES(Home System) Owner.. I can tell you that i can rarely find a cartridge around $30. The Arcade carts are cheaper because you need the arcade system which is big and bulky. The home system is nice and small but those cartridges are ASTRONOMICAL. I cant recall the last time I found a title for under $60. Im sure they exist on ebay but nothing that I own or have been looking for. Once these games go onsale for the VC i think they'll hover at around $10 which will be cheaper than even a $30 cart any day. I know they will add Neo Geo to the lineup because when I bought my Japanese Wii I got some typ of literature which talked about the VC and it had the Neo geo Logo on it.. So its a matter of time. I'm gonna be very curious how much these VC Games are gonna cost.
I still think on the upside that having a modded xbox w/ all the emulators + roms is obviously more cost effective. But hey its Nintendo and they've listened to their customer fan base and are producing well. Producing so well in fact that its hard to find Wiis in the store. It can happen but they sell out pretty fast. I picked up 1 for my friend the other day which I was lucky.. well he was lucky.
When I retire I plan to have a house here (getting there paying it off) and also having a house already paid off in Japan where my wife is from. I plan to live in a small village and I dream of being a Curry chef in whatever restraunt there. Its massively different than IT of course. All depends on geography and relevent interests. What would you wanna do w/ your spare time? Mentor children? Go on a boatload of cruises? Play Bingo.

Welp I find it hard to believe that the magic gone. For most of us the magic isnt there because we can't find it in stores. I hear in March it will be easier to get one. I got oodles oof bestbuy gift cards (big mistake) ready to go get a wii. When I go to Japan in late march im willing to bet apples to oranges that I could get a wii out there. Lord Vader demands that this FUD faggotry end. The wii has outsold the PS3 for the moment in such a short time. Nintendo has been always been about catering to the people (ages 5-100) and they're doing a great job in that dept. (Brain Age anyone?). Like most of NIntendo's other products this is just another stepping stone to their own next gen (gba, gba-sp,gba-micro, fatty-NintendoDS, DSlite).

Oh How true how true. I remember last friday browsing through ebay and it took 118 pages before actually finding a "Playstation" searched item that wasnt a PS3. The shortage was created with people intent on making money. Now given that you pay $600 + avg of 8% Sales tax. Then when you hock it on ebay you'll get dinged about 3% plus any paypal fees. The only way to break above water is to take a money order or direct bank payment. The only person who could make a profit was 1 target employee who's receipt I saw and he got his 10% off discount which saved him $60. Now I LOL at all the PS3s stacked up at best buys as I travel around the country. Now on to the Wii. Granted that there isn't as many Wii's on ebay as there are PS3s last time I checked. At least half of these people bought it with the intent of actually playing it vs. making a profit. I just LOL at all the people who are attempting to capitalize on this 'shortage'. The Wiimotes are selling for $49.99 on avg on ebay. Personally thats alot of trouble to make $10 - FEEs, especially as I see Wiimotes at Bestbuy for $39.99. So I wonder how long people can hang on to these consoles before they return it. Reason for return? No one wanted to buy it from Ebay. Note to future scalpers. You've already failed!
Its funny these extended warranty bits here in the US. In Japan where I get most of my electronics from I've never heard of or seen extended warranties in Japan. Any/.ers in Japan that can verify this?
Here's a simple and truthful thought. I got married 2+ years ago.. My wife works a shitload of hours and is a nurse. She wont go to the movies unless its on the 1st of 2 consecutive days off. She wont go to the movies the day before she has to work. Also she says that the prices are high.. "Just wait for it to come out on dvd." Mind you she's not American. I tend to view the theatres as a social activity which well I've missed alot of the previous movies. Though I did attend the big big ones (Matrix, Star Wars, LOTR). Didn't see Sin City amongst any movies that came out in the last 6-8 months. So here's another tally reason. Yeah I can go w/o her but heck when my other friends are broke its not as fun going to the movies unless you go with someone.
I grew up on Disney cuz of my mom (of course). But I also got a early dose of anime not in this country. The earliest anime ive watched is Mazinger Z, Gatchaman, Candy Candy (chick stuff) and some others i cant recall. Now I liked that stuff too cuz it was different look and feel. But as I got older I got smarter. One thing that pissed me off was that American cartoons didnt follow continuity and didnt have a ending (like smurfs). I started looking for toons that had more plot and thats what attracted me to Anime. The only few american toons to follow plot and have an ending was Gargoyles, Exo Squad (anyone ever seen this on dvd.. of course not!). Gargoyles was by far Disney's best item.. but it was "TOOK DARK". WAAAAAAA we'll scare of little kids and they will think Disney is evil.. Ah if they only knew. And for the record Im not totally bashing Disney. They are just lacking massive creative substance. I did enjoy and do own things like Toy Story 1 & 2 and Definitely enjoyed The Lion King (even though they somewhat ripped that off, Kimba...)
This is what i think of disney. Yes they are a money grubbing empire.. But nothing will save Disney. It has become Cult-like no different than star Trek or Star Wars. What will keep Disney going is that the current disney fans will have children who will show them the world of Disney. So disney fans breeding disney fans. If I evever had kids Ill show them both Disney and Anime.. I'll let them choose and embrace what they want to. I figure as anime becomes more popular and starting to ensnare younger audiences thats whats taking away from the Disney Empire. As someone pointed out earlier eventually Disney will be nothing more than a place where you go to visit (at $50-$75 a head) and buy loads of merchandise.
I've been using BT for years to grab the latest and greatest anime from japan.. For once someone actually see's the good use for BT. Yeah I grab the TV Series.. I then later buy the dvds for the extra content.
