  1. Creditcards 101. on GoDaddy Serves Blank Pages to Safari & Opera · · Score: 1

Having worked for a creditcard company... this has to do with subscription charges.

Most likely GoDaddy did mention it would be renewed somewhere in fine print when you originally signed up. For recurring charges, the creditcard company has no way to prevent the new charges from going through because it's a "contract" with that merchant.

For example, even if you CLOSE your account, a monthly subscription charge from AOL or a magazine will still go through and post to your creditcard. Even if you are past due or overlimit, it will post. Even if that account number was reported lost or stolen, it will still go through (and then usually get transferred to your new account number).

The only way to stop the charges is to cancel the charges with the merchant... then you can dispute whatever charges did get posted already, with your creditcard company (if the merchant doesnt agree to refund them for you).

This is how it is for every creditcard out there, and when people find out it works this way, they always blame their current creditcard company or the merchant.

Those in power... or in the majority... are never really hurt at all by comments or stereotypes. They still rule the world. So whites, men, christians (in USA), heterosexuals, etc will always be fair game. And I agree with it. Whereas if you make damaging comments against a minority or a group of people whose situation is pretty bad... then you're just an ass. Clearly. Don't kick someone when they're already down.

I was raised Lutheran (ELCA, not Missouri Synod) and the thing I know now is that ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is just about one of the most liberal protestant religions out there. My pastor told me before confirmation that I didn't have to get confirmed if I didn't want to... and that I should only do it if I REALLY believed in God. For confirmation classes we even went to a Jewish Synagogue and learned about how their religous sevices work. I think we also went to a big stone Catholic Church as well, and learned what all the things everywhere were used for. Of course this is Minnesota were most people are ELCA or Catholic anyway. I think in Kansas it may be more conservative Baptist.

Okay, now with this issue there might be an exception here, but there is a reason we don't have a true democracy in the United States: people are stupid. That's why we pick representatives to do the voting for us. It's not because it would be inconvenient to have a popular vote on every issue, it's because the framers were smart enough not to trust the public with such power.

Do you really think your so-called "representatives" in congress or elsewhere take the time to read bills before they vote on them? They take campaign money from corporations and then vote how they corporations want them to vote. People are stupid, but representatives are people, too. The difference is that it's easier to corrupt and buy-out a handful of representatives than the entire populace.
