    Don't get me wrong RMS has contributed more to the hacker movement then probably any other single individual but his overly liberal views will just not work in a society that frowns upon socialism. I support the GNU Foundation in everything they do, but RMS just needs to sit back and shutup everynow again and start working with the vendors and stop working against them. RMS will become infamous, and be known as the Hitler of Open Source. So RMS, just chill out.

    you guys are still missnig the point, without big corps there would have been no need for Unix or C or anything cause there would be no COMPUTERS! Big corporations created, and feed the industry. I don't like everything they do, but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

    How is MS ever going to figure this one out? Actually having to lower prices, and be competitive. I mean, cmon youre just sposed to buy it cause it's what everyone else is doing. Isn't that the theory behind Windows?

    Well i did do research before a posted the question. and i never ran across Chritopher Browne's page in my searches. I went through the typical routes, google, freshmeat, sf. And i didnt find anything that was up to par. I had been using GNUCash for about 3 months and found it seriously lacking. So stop your grumbling, and thanks for the link.

    I've used GNUCash, it was lacking a lot of features that i would consider a neccessity in personal finance app. Like the ability to add a description to a transaction, and the stock tracking features were buggy as heck i could never get my mutual funds to track right.

    This is great that hp is keeping handhelds.org alive. Handhelds.org has produced a lot of great software over the past couple of years and made things like the Sharp Zaurus possible. The death of the jornada is unfortunate but it seems that hp is just trying to keep the best products out on the market. Thanks HP for not killing off handhelds.org!

    Does anyone know of a way to get a SB Live card to output 5.1ch surround sound out of the built in speaker jacks? I've seen stuff regarding the spdif connection but i can only get standard stereo sound.

    So because of star wars we'll see a bunch of people play hookie and go see a movie. That may "cost" the economy 300+ Mil, but with all the toys, ticket sales, various other memoribilia ( from underwhere to mouse pads) how much is star wars bringing back into the economy. I'm sure it's a lot more than a measly 300 Mil. just my 2 cents though. -
