    The better questions would be:

Which western countries government does not yet behave like the long gone STASI or NSDAP? (ie: illegal arrests, arrests due to obvious bullshit laws, spying on private computer systems WITHOUT WARRANT or the knowledge of the victim, telling you what you can read / watch and what not -> the illusion of free press, telling you what you are allowed to think and to say -> the illusion of free speech")

Which country out there truly honors its citizens right to privacy and does not treat its populace like they were all criminals?

Which country out there does not surrender to the all-present abuse of the words "terrorist, communist or anarchist" to justify bullshit laws (and even full blown wars...) or to push any other political agenda?

Which country does not abuse the mainstream media to manipulate the masses to do their bidding in more disgusting ways than even Dr. Goebbels was able to?

Are there any truly democratic and free countries left?

Does that work on any web page, or does it have to be specifically enabled? How can I know if the connection is secure? And when I click a link will that also use 'https'?

For someone calling himself hax0r_this, you are awfully uninformed.

Of course the webserver (apache or whatever) must have SSL installed, enabled and configured for any (virtual) domains you are trying to reach via SSL. I haven't used too many different Linux distros but I believe it would be safe to say that SSL is not enabled by default these days as it adds quite a bit of CPU overhead on busy sites (or so I heard).

Your Browser of Choice will display a little "Lock" symbol in its status bar and / or recolor the address bar when you are connected via SSL, it is easy to spot once you know what to look out for.

If the links are coded properly, then yes, all local links in a webpage will use SSL / https instead of http.

I am one of the few lucky "P0" developers and already own a Neo1973 for a few month now. The screen is almost perfect for e-book reading due to its awesome brilliance and bightness.
The only problem right now is patching existing e-book reader software for use with the neo ( ie: change pages by tapping the touchscreen as the Neo does not have any keys etc ).
I personally used the "BlueTooth Remote" function of a certain unnamed mobile (heh) to change pages on the Neo wirelessly ;)

Actually that is not always true. For machinery you differentiate between Emergency Stop and Emergency Power-off. The latter cuts power to all moving parts of the machine and relies on mechanical systems (breaks, clutches etc) to actually stop any moving parts. The former OTOH performs a controlled (and powered!) shutdown of the machine (think electric braking etc) after which it may or may not cut power to selected parts of the control circuits. The difference is vital.

And at the very least in Germany that has indeed been the case (and that should bloody tell you something)

The current state of affairs, however, is very disappointing and disturbing.
