Just because you don't understand something doesn't make it mumbo jumbo. People of old were a lot smarter than the many morons of today. There is belief that "unknown powers" gave the arc the magical powers it possessed, and science has yet to understand many things around us that have been used in homeopathy for ages, like turmeric, ginger, and garlic. Don't mock it, till you can say "I know everything about everything, and I know that is absolute rubbish"
This doesn't sound like a case of smart criminals, but dumb executives at the head of the supermarket. If this has been going on for four years, why hasn't the company done something to fix the weak link in the chain to begin with? Serves them right for ignoring or not addressing the problem in the first place.
I wonder if some "kid" decided to see what kind of crap/. would put up, and decided to run a story from the UK version of the "National Enquirer" and there are a 3000 comments from people saying "that us just wrong".
This is a very very good article. Thank you for pointing that out. However, I am curious as to how the court sees "maker voluntarily and intentionally uttered them as a declaration of apparent determination to carry them into execution". What if you simple say, "I had no intention of actually carrying it out. I said something in the heat of the moment". Also, just because the people in power choose to do what they want, i.e. threaten people just for speaking their minds, does not make it right in anyway. The article itself says that "75% of the people who threaten are mentally ill."
Cheers.
There certainly is....

I don't understand why anyone would pay for TV, twice. Almost everyone (atleast in the developed countries) has a TV, and already pays for it. If you miss a show today, you can catch it in just a few hours at the earliest, and a few days at the latest. Most of it is reruns, anyway. If you want to watch something, transfer it before going somewhere. Why the hell would you pay for it again?
I live in Atlanta, GA in the "suburbs" and work in Downtown Atlanta. There is a rail line that stretches from somewhere close to where I live to Downtown Atlanta. I fight 1.5 hours of traffic, or 1.5 hours of bus time and some car time, to get back and forth. I always wonder what stops someone from saying, let me use the EXISTING tracks to put a rail from the so called suburbs to Downtown which would cover atleast three cities and would run along the WHOLE STRETCH of I85, and this has not happened as of yet. So, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this or any new solution. If anything
It is typically written as "enterprise-cum-consumer", meaning "enterprise as well as / with consumer", but in the US? not sure about Europe, that word has becum known for other things besides the cleaner version
That's probably because people are too busy or too lazy. I would vote most as lazy, but probably busy to see the Cc to see whether they were scammed, if they are smart enough to realize that they have been scammed in the first place.
This should not be surprising to anyone. Such studies are published mostly to keep laws up against file sharers, and companies (napster, piratebay and so on), so that ?PAA can justify their existence.
With enough material sciences knowledge about how an object breaks down, and under what circumstances, I am surprised that any company can reasonably say that "We don't know why / when a part can break down suddenly" and let me sit you on the tarmac for who knows how many hours, while we replace what we should have in the first place.
Sex offenders should be locked up permanently or executed. End of story. There is no "strict" punishment for anyone that brings harm to kids. Won't someone please think of the children?
I don't have a Sony/Vaio. I built my computer from the ground up, and yet I had the same problem with Ubuntu as you did. So many people on/. seem to tell you and me that we are wrong, but I have to agree with you. This is one of the primary reasons why I can never get anyone in my house to use Linux, because with Windows, things just work and if they don't, there is some alternative that seems faster and easier at least. You don't have to apt-get this and apt-get that. and still some things just don't work. It is up to me to say, "I guess I have to live without that" or "I will find a workaround for that one day". It is little wonder why Linux is not ready for the mainstream.
How is this different from being watched inside the store anyhow? We are always being watched no matter where we are and sometimes we don't even know it. Sooner than later, this will become the new norm, where scaremongers will run the state/country/world in the name of protection and the few people that object will be dealt with in the manner appropriate to the "law" of the land. We can fight it, and hopefully will keep it away for a couple of years.
I didn't realize that people that took so many pains entering the U.S. illegally, took planes back to their country so frequently or so easily. "Yeah, it took me 2 weeks of walking the Arizona desert, in 120 degree heat and I almost died of thirst and hunger, and being chased by dogs, vultures, and minute men, but let me go by plane to see my family, and make the same exciting and adventurous trip back". Maybe some people do that, but I can't see how many illegal people would travel this way. This clearly seems to be yet another way of keeping tabs on people, who are in the United States legally, but are not citizens. I wonder how long it will be, before they extend this policy to U.S citizens as well.
Come on people. Atleast pretend to read the article. If you did, you would have seen that it clearly states that this is for US-VISIT program which is NOT for U.S. Citizens, but only for visitors. Will it be applied to the U.S. Citizens in the future? Maybe, or maybe not. Just don't try to deceive people my stating that is not accurate.
If you need some kind of alert to let your "loved" ones know that you are dead and it falls on the same freaking day every year, then maybe you should reconsider who your loved ones are, or atleast, get some loved one before you die.
Keep in mind that even though India is launching satellites, it does not mean that the country is somehow rich. It just means that the government is controlled by hungry/greedy companies that want profits and are able to buy the politicians into spending money on such things, while largely ignoring even the most basics of the people. Many people are dirt poor, live in horrible conditions, and malnutrition is everywhere. But, as long as the ultra rich get richer, and the politicians run the India, it will never prosper.
This is a great idea. Where I live, (Georgia, US), the commuter train system absolutely sucks. On top of which, I don't understand why the government won't use the existing rail line to ease the traffic burden. MOST people live way out, and for someone like me, the nearest subway is about 15 - 20 miles. Hell, if I drive that far, I might as well drive another 10 miles to get to work, instead of driving 15 miles, getting on a train, going ALL the way downtown, catch another train to another station, then take the bus, and the bus will drop you off, about 2 miles from where I work, meaning I have another 20 minute walk. All this would take about 1.5 hrs each way. It has saved me any time, and it is EXTREMELY inconvienent.
On top of all this, why can't they just have a "regular" train run at set times in the morning and evening. This way, people can get to downtown, from the boondocks and not have to worry about all the hassles of driving an hour just to get to the subway. Who owns the rail lines that AMTRAK and CSX use?
People say there aren't enough skilled workers, but from what I can, there are too many people in the IT field. We posted for an opening and we had 40+ candidates in under a couple of hours. Many had little to no skills, but who's to say that I would get a better candidate from another country? Besides, if u keep hiring candidates from outside, then how will the non-experienced people that are in the US get the experience they need? We can't support the whole world by saying, come on down. I will get you a job because I don't want to pay the American worker so much money. Well, guess what, you can pay me 15K/yr, or 100K/yr. I still have to pay the same price for everday items that I NEED, forget what I WANT. So, how do I live on the poverty scale, when I went to school in hopes of making more money in the first place?
I really cannot imagine that today any nation (other than rogue nations) really going head to head with their neighbours and even the rogues are very wary. I mean, with media and satellite coverage, the news would spread the world over before ur first foot soldier makes their first move. That said, is it really necessary to say, "Look, we have nukes. Don't come near us" or is that old world mentality? As GP said, it might be best to have invested time and money into so many other things to make the country better. But, then the few idiots that make these decisions don't ever have any intention of making the country better, just making sure their bank accounts get bigger. So sad.
Your analogy is completely incorrect. For starters, Windows is not calling Frys, Best Buy or any of the other sellers. It is calling the maker of the software. Secondly, if you bought a Ralph Lauren shirt, and you used it then that would be different. When you buy a Ralph Lauren shirt, and start making copies of shirt and selling them, or even giving them away for free, then Ralph Lauren company would come after you because you are illegally and illegitimately using their name to manufacture something they didn't authorize and they have every right to do so. So, why should Microsoft have any problems with doing this? How else do you expect them to see whether you are legitimate or not. Like it or not, if you want a branded copy of something, then pay for it and use it legally. Then you should not have any problems with WGA, or the OS. Is it a crappy OS, that does not do anything and not worth anything? Yes, but that is a different topic.
When I gave them my email, I started getting emails about Hallie Berry drunk and exposed" "Asain bagned by a bigidck" and "Free Windows" in my Junk Mail folder. That just is now funny. Where can I opt-out now?
