My company will be rolling out Firefox within the next month, and we will not support anyone using IE (yay). I cannot tell you how happy that made me, when I heard the news.
There are plenty of good economic reasons for a car like this, especially these days, and once someone Does It Right(TM) they'll be raking in the cash.
Yeah. Because people have 'economic reasons' to spend $13000+ for a very small 2-person car with a very limited range. And oh yeah! Did I mention this doesn't include the $35000 battery (which you wont own, but will pay a "fee" to use)?
Get the price point down below $5k, include the battery -- keep battery replacement costs below $1000 and then maybe... JUST maybe you'll see these for "neighborhood" going to the market type cars...
There's a reason they call these "green" -- because to use one, you need to get rid of all your money.
They have done that here and here. I am sure we will find these in our neighbourhood long before we see these Gold Carts or this Electric car.:-)
You are doing nothing but put your parents "in a box". I repair computers around my neighbourhood and when people tell me they lost their Windows CD or it didn't come with CDs or whatever, I tell them they can spend an extra 150 for their "Genuine" copy of Windows or use Linux. I cannot tell you how many people choose Linux. I tell them to give it a try, since most of them are not using it for anything more than Web browsing and photo viewing. If they don't like it (and some don't), they come back to me and spend an extra 150 or whatever. I have a few Average Computer users that use Linux and are quite satisfied. Thank you.
I have used CFLs for almost 4 or 5 years now. It takes them about 0.5 second to actually come on, but the light from them is not very bright for the first few mins. It almost feels like we have a night light or something, when we first walk into our family room and turn the light on.
Apple has fallen from their pedastal in recent years. They were the "cool but geeky and not very market savvy company" that I always looked up to. In the past couple of years, they have sued john does' of the world just to keep out information and they have forgotten that they are upsetting the fan club that blindly praises anything the company puts out.
For all those who keep asking the question, "What is wrong with having to show an ID?", you need to keep in mind that once the government starts saying we cannot show you the law because it is national security and all that, they can also say, you are subject to "intensive search" at every 500 ft (for example) for not showing an ID or any other number of rules like that....So, where does it end?
Now that is just plain silly, since no one is really forcing you to go google's website to do your search. Ofcourse no one owns the Internet, but Microsoft does own the Windows OS and they know the ins and outs of every thing in the OS. So for them to use it to their advantage to say start their own products faster than others or include the products in such a way that you cannot remove them (IE comes to mind, *before the govt lawsuit ofcourse*), and because there are no real alternatives for Windows, then it is definitely wrong for Microsoft, but not wrong for google.
A couple of thousand does not mean majority in a country of 300 million. Each and every single person should vote and then and only then should votes be counted. Unfortunately since not everyone will vote and if everyone does, our current system would be overwhelmed, we have wait for everyone that wants to vote (during a period to actually count the vote). Otherwise, you would have the mafia/gansters put their name in and pressure a few thousand people to vote for them and next thing you know, you will have some gangster as our next president or civil servant.
I am sure there will a few hundred posts pointing this out, but XP seems to do the job just fine for now. Just wait till Microsoft releases Vista SP2 or SP3, if that. What intelligent person would really want that DRM OS on their box anyway?
I love my iPod. Sure they had some issues, but for Apple, it was/is a major accomplishment. Those who complain about noise levels need to get a life and stop listening with the volume all the way up. Anything in moderation is a good thing, but never more. As for the "shonk awards", whoever created the article makes a valid point...but I don't see how iPod would have made profits (without which it wouldn't have been soo popular with investors as well) if Apple paid for everything, even if you ran the iPod over with your car 50 times and asked them to fix it and foor the bill.
The planet can't think for itself....or it would have "kicked us out" a long time ago. It is the dwarfs, elves, and hobbits we need to be more worried about.
I too work for the Space Shuttle program and I can also confirm that a repair team is set to be sent to fix the Hubble telescope. I have to post AC because I fear retribution from divulging such sensitive information. Thanks. I send you this file for advice.
We have heard this time and time again, but until we see the plant up and running and being able to produce what it promises, it does not mean anything
P2P trading has been contained, we can all hope to see "lawmakers" and "law enforcement" move their focus away from criminalizing and prosecuting 13 year old kids and grannies, and move on to working on more important things?
was locked in one room for the last 5 years or they have blatently ignored all customer complaints about better security and more patches to be released quicker. How can Balmer and company not know about how big a problem sypware/malware/etc is till his PC was infected?
Microsoft has spent billions adversiting all the cool new features that Vista would have, and after soo many years, it is nothing more than XP with new eye candy. This shows that, just because you spend millions/billions, you won't be able to deliver all that you promise.
If this development cycle is so onerous, and slows everything down, then how/why did Microsoft decide to push the date back only a couple of months. If you are going to tell the public that you are going to push back, why not be realistic and tell them 6 months or something, rather than 2 months? Honestly, how much difference can 2 months make when it comes to such a huge product?

Ofcourse you don't need anti-virus...so long as it is not connected to the internet. Plug in the network cable and ten GOD help us all.

Besides, that is what Darwin's theory really needs to apply, anyway. Let the lot of them blow up. The world needs more clever people anyway.
When Apple has come up iPod and has such a strong growth, what do you think he will say? Oh, I am quaking in my boots and start throwing chairs!
That is probably the reason they are trying to do this in US (yet). The citizens of Hungary needs to protest better, but who really has a choice?

that no one in the justice dept. will even raise an eyebrow, to see if this breaks any laws. People downloading music, they after, but not this.

No, we couldn't get the sharks because they are now on the endangered species list

Oh, how little you know us marketing folks. That is the beauty of it. We are trained to sell sand in the desert.
