Actually i am hoping for an all expense paid trip to an allien zoo, where i will have to live naked with a supermodel, and we will fuck for the education and entertainment of the aliens. (thanx for the fantasy kurt vonnegut, you are the best)
When entering a new market it is always easier to buy another company (if you can afford it) rather than try to force your way in there.
When you buy another company you get consumer base, brandnames expertise etc.
chess is suffering problems similar to those of boxing. Split championships etc. But i think that every one agrees that Kasparov is still the best player out there.
It was released on one of the consoles and it was simply horrible.
Diablo might be good though. It seems simple enough for a console.... but without a keyboard much of the fun of network play (trading equipment - begging others for equipment, showing equipment off) will be lost. So i dont think diablo will work either.
Good idea - reparations. But I think Japan should start off first paying reparations to china, korea, malaysa, taiwan for their past colonial exploitation.
But this problem gets solved all the time and without any official checks on income.
The pets example was one. Nobody who can afford a drug will eat the version made for dogs no matter howe much cheaper it is, even if they know its the same stuff.
So i dont compare african people with pets i will give another example. Banana Republic and old navy owned by the same corp (i think) have clothes of pretty much the same quality (with some differences in design) and fro very different prices. But do more well to do people "cheat" by buying old navy when they should be buying banana. Most dont. They actually want to buy the more expensive stuff in order to express their place in society.
Now i think similar price differentiation can easily be achieved with aids drugs. If you put a large notice on the drug packaging that says "not approved by FDA" that will prevent many people that can afford the fda approved stuff from using it.
But you can do much better. You have so much racism and class resentment working in your favor. So if you put a note on the drug that says "free aids drugs to be given to dirt poor africans, not approved by the fda, take it on your own risk" nobody will take this unless they have no choice and no way to afford the other stuff. Even the more well to do africans will take the expensive version. Of course the drugs will be of the same quality.
I really dont mean to be offensive to anyone. Racism is a regretable reality, but in this situation it can really be used to provide some cheap drugs without risk for drug manufacturers of eroding the sales of their expensive brands.
While the cost of development is high the cost of production is really low.
Now when you have a bunch of people that wouldnt be able to pay for the drugs anyway why not just give them the drug at lower or no cost.
Such cost differentiation is not unheard of. for example some drugs for pets are cheap, while the identical drugs for humans are expensive. Thats because people wouldnt pay the high costs of a drug for a pet.
It is very difficult to run at 14 m per hour. Most people just cant do it, and the ones that can cannot do it on a regular basis.
But driving a sageway at 14 miles per hour is as easy as leaning forward i presume. You say most people have good judgement and wont do it. But then again if we could rely on other people's good judgement we wouldnt have speeding laws.
Also 14 miles per hour is not that fast for someone that is used to riding in a car and i am sure everyone will think they can handle it.
If china does DNS attack it will be very easy to block them. Just block everything that comes from China.
Further more China knows that, and knows that they will suffer economicaly if they are disconnected from the internet and would not try to launch DNS attacks.
What the CIA is really worried is hackers from the first world, who will be hard to track down and may disagree with many powerful people's and cormporations visions of the new world order.
are you saying there are no dense urban areas in america?
that is just not true... and several of those dense urban areas really need good mass transit.
I would add san fransisco to the list of the poster above.
i was wondering how that name was familiar - now i remember the nyc subway trains are built by them.
By the way the aerospace companies probably wont turn to this kind of work, because cities cannot afford the fantastic overpayments that the fed govt gives them. they actually have to show a working model in return for their fees which may be a bit dissapointing for companies that are used to making missile defense systems.
That will never work in Vegas. Have you seen the crowds on the strip?. You need that monorail to be able to pick up large numbers of people.
big style public transportation is exactly what is called for.
As I am one of the very few people that did not really see the original trilogy as a kid (lived in a faraway country and the tickets sold out so fast i never had a chance) I think that the first three movies even though very lighthearted, are quite entertainiong for adults.
They are pretty darn good adventure movies. There were charecters you cared about, villians that were pretty cool, a plot that had fairy tale kind of quality - where you know it is a bit too simplistic but you still get into it.
The characters got into all kinds of exciting adventures and perils. There was a nice love story and some delicious footage where the princess was enslaved and chained in her bikinis by a fat sloberring freak - what more could you ask for?
Phantom menace on the other hand had too many characters and i didnt care about most of them, the main girl's appearence and lines were so stylized as to remove any sex appeal, the main male character was a 7 year old. There was no chemistry between any of the characters.
You never cared about anything of the adventures, because you dont care about the characters and you know who is going to survive and win.
So i think there was a difference. It was not just youth that made you like the trilogy.
i dont know about increasing quality of war movies. I dont think saving private ryan was nearly as good as movies like apocalypse now or full metal jacket.
Same goes for foreign war movies like das boot and and some russian ww2 movies i will not try to write out.
Honestly i dont think the quality of war movies is improving.
Nobody forces you to install anything that is bundled with a distro.
If you sell computers with preinstalled Linux, nobody will tell you what to install on there. You can make your own distro and bundle whatever you like in there.
And Linus will not punish oyu if you do not put Mozilla on every Linix computer.
As i said in the title this should be obvious to you, but since you are an MS troll you may need some explaining.
As far as apple is concerned there are two differences: - apple is not a monopoly - apple make their own hardware, and do their own preinstalls, so they are not using their market power to control other companies. They only "control" themselves.
how many companies have been killed by ms when they incorporated their software into windows?
Why is it that even when IT was really hot writing windows software was not considered a good enterprise? Every thing had to be on the net, on servers or made for webbrowsers.
Microsoft kills every company that tries to make a mass used software for windows. the only ones that survive are the ones in the niches - game developers, accounting prog ppl etc, proffessional software developers etc.
And saying Pcs are cheaper is kind of silly because if it wasnt for microsoft's barage of new windows versions, most people would not need to buy a new computer every two years to do the same thing they have always done.
What the reviewer meant is that at those prices the Xbox could be used as a really cheap computer (or maybe even a webserver). for those uses OS matters.
anal probe?

Ninetendo wanted to learn from Microsoft about making console games and systems. Because Ninetendo lacks experience in that field you know.
Unless Ninetendo needed urgent information on how to make a bussiness plane or a golf simulator, i would suggest you have it backwards.
When entering a new market it is always easier to buy another company (if you can afford it) rather than try to force your way in there. When you buy another company you get consumer base, brandnames expertise etc.

I wonder why you believe that.

Although the US does not colonise in the old way, it still does the postmodern version of colonisation.
And yes there have been mass executions as a result of that. Chile under Pinochet is an example.
a patent can prevent you from using an invention. So it doesnt matter if you are charging for it or not if you are using it you infringe.
Of course if you are just a hobbyist you are probably not causing damages, so noone will bother suiing.
the monorail rides on concrete with rubber wheels. While the rail rides on steel rails with steel wheels. Both concepts have tradeoffs.
i think monorails are cheaper than raised rail, but raised rail allows for higher speeds and efficiency.
and i miss news radio as well. sigh ...

I know this argument has been used a lot.
