I've got the Kyocera 6035 because I like to keep in touch with folks and wanted a PDA for calendar and the occasional game, but didn't want to carry 2 devices. Its a full Palm organizer and a great phone, so I'm looking forward to the 7135 dropping in price (eventually??), because I'd like to upgrade to it.
Having said all that, I'm not at all surprised to be seeing this article, and hope to see the convergence continue a bit more. The 7135 has an MP3 player feature that I find interesting, but since it uses SD cards for storage, it could get considerably expensive to carry a good amount of music with you. All in due time I suppose....
My buddy made a similar setup. It's PVC pipe with a screw cap on one end with a grill lighter epoxied into it. Spray some gas, point shoot.
It makes me nervous every time he fires it off, but I'll be damned if I'm not amused. (He's got it to go almost halfway across one of the wider sections of the Hudson river)
A Keyocera 7135 Palm Phone will supply you with the PDA + gaming + Phone, and to a small degree MP3 player functions. That pretty much just leaves the Leatherman, which honestly, you don't need with you at all times McGuyver. If you really must have it handy, then consider a swiss knife.
I think the idea of a do-not-spam list is great (and sounds funny as well), but I think one of the other obstacles for it is the FCC. Others have already mentioned that they wouldn't have jurisdiction in the countries sending the stuff, but on top of that I don't believe they have the same authority over the internet as they seem to have over telephone.
Anybody know more about the extent of their internet authority?
Hmmm, since you have to die to get said virgins; I think it would be safe to say that the 70 virgins (male or female) would likely be dead as well. Now since you're dead it might not bother you, but I'm stuck with the unpleasant image of a pile of 70 people who were too repugnant to screw when they were alive in the first place....
Planes are generally quiet places, where you can lie back, enjoy some wine, watch a movie in the front of your seat, have a wonderfully cooked meal.
I can even recline horizontally if I so choose.
Not all of us fly first class.... I have never been able to attain anything close to horizontal in any of the commuter flights I've taken.
I've been enjoying some of the cheap-ass games for a while. Their games are very bare-bones in their delivery, but some are pleanty involved. The less involved ones are just plain fun as well though because the game premises are so offbeat (Please pass the brain)
It might be that they're limiting the distrobution to the UK at this time in the hopes that they'll gain enough attention to get some actual screen showings in the states and other countries. Most hollywood films are released to the US and then their worldwide distrobution is largely affected by their performance here.
It would be interesting if Apple was to develop an iTunes-like delivery system for movies. Heck, it seems they already have the code, but just need to tweak it to add DRM to quicktime or something like that. Could be neat....
Not to mention that once you have those tapes in hand; they're not likely to be much good to you unless you have a contract with a business continuity services group which will allow you to load your data back onto the systems they have on hold.
Seriously though; I often break things down into a calendar hierarchy/Documents/2003/May/ for time sensitive stuff, and/or by topic. In other words I'll have a/Documents/business/2003/ path and so forth...
Have you seen the stats? 90% of slashdot users use windows or mac's..
Not saying that nobody here is a tech, but honestly, the majority are actually not really techs.
I'm not sure I see the connection. You're infering that because the majority of the slashdot readers use the most widely used operating systems to read this site, that they're not technically adept?
As much as I might enjoy working with *nix systems at work; the fact that my workstation and home machine are Windows and Mac respectively doesn't have anything to do with my or anybodys tech-iosity. (End Rant)
I've found that the iApps are pretty intuitive for most of the stuff you'd want to do with them. With some playing around and a quick check of their included help screens you can figure most basic stuff out. In other words I don't think a manual needs to be included (No manuals to be found with most linux / windows bundled programs anyway); but the fact that O-Reily chose to publish one will likely benefit folks who want to dig deeper into these Apps features.

I think the parent was refering to game consoles, not DVD players.
The ol' potato gun!!

My car has a toolkit in it.
While I do own a leatherman and swiss knife, I only really carry them when I know they'll be useful (camping etc...)

Odd smells accumulate?
Done building ship!!
Always put a smile on my face.

Whatta crappy reward!
> Is there any college in the U.S. with 70 virgins?
Yes, but out of politeness we call them "engineering students" instead of "virgins".
and once you factor in how many of them are actually female; the stats look pretty sad.

There's a handful of Beatles tunes on iTMS though. I know; I know it's not the same, but worth mentioning anyway.
Working on it as we speak: PvP
Frosty!!
" She has a vested interest in making this ..."
Unintentional pun I hope...

CheapAssGames --No it's NOT a p0rn site.

"I have no trouble pounding out hundreds of words per minute without glancing at the keys"
This is of course keeping in mind that "I" is in fact a word.
Now I think I'm going out on a limb here; but just maybe it could be used to read / play DVDs. Don't quote me:
Well this wont even begin to work.....
/Documents/2003/May/ for time sensitive stuff, and/or by topic. In other words I'll have a /Documents/business/2003/ path and so forth...

<comic-book-guy> I believe the name you're looking for is "Spider-Man". </comic-book-guy>
Sheesh... =)
My company is working to send a bunch of our jobs overseas. Keep waiting and your company may "Accomodate" you as well.
Reading comprehension lesson:
(management are supplied with phones as well in case client calls get escalated)
Where does the article mention at all that the managment was sharing a phone? His company issued phone was trashed.
