I totally agree with you, in fact I think that we should just take all the money from society and distribute it equally to every person, regardless of contribution. The added benefit would be that people programming open source software (and not getting paid) would get the rewards they deserve.

I use internet explorer and an add filter (the popup Ad Filter), sometime when I click on something and it dosn't work (eg. the CNN poles) I realize my popup filter is catching it and I hold down CTRL to disable. Is there a 1 button disable in Mozilla or is there someway around it? Or do you just argue that any site with popups dosn't deserve your time.

    I really liked this part:

This evening, my daughters asked me. "Why do the other kids laugh at us?"
I wanted to tell them the truth - it's because they wear old clothes and have cheap haircuts. I can't afford anything better for them right now.
"It's because they are idiots, kids", I told them. "Don't listen to them."

If you already have points A and B on your routes, just save your route, erase all the points you don't want and plot a new route, its not exactly a direct method but it can be done. This is probably easier than tracing over the area with the mouse.

  22. Re:Popular, is when people choose the OS.... on What Is The Most Popular OS in the World? · · Score: 1

I think the market does choose Windows PCs. Clearly a linux PC could be sold for hundreds less, and people would buy it if it was as good as windows. But this dosn't happen, because linux is too hard to use for most people. And don't tell me about how the computer makers are in Microsoft's pocket, any small computer store could buy the parts and make linux PCs, but they don't because very few people will buy them. You may say that most people don't choose, but that is just the fault of Linux for not being a legitimate choice.

  24. Re:Didn't we learn anything from Napster? on RIAA Sequentially Repeating Edison's Mistakes? · · Score: 2

You act as if you think the market is fair and moral. The market is controlled by price and if a product is easily stolen (eg. free) and there is infinite supply, then no one will pay for it. So either the RIAA has to get the law on their side to the point where the people are afraid to pirate stuff or think of some other solution or just cease to exist. Don't say things like "people shouldn't be ripping them off". If breaking a law benifets me and I have almost no chance of getting caught then I'm going to break it. I speed, I use drugs and I pirate media, give me a reason to stop.

Remember also that there's been plenty of teams that went out, tried to buy a championship, and in the process they also failed miserably.

The Yankees have the highest payroll every year, so it could be argued that they try to buy the championship every year (and fail miserably over half the time).
