What amazes me, is that Apple has not pushed OO to be on there. They would be smart to add a few coders to the project just to ensure that it can compete against Office on their platform.
Apple has Pages, Keynote, and Numbers (I pay for them rather than use OO.). Oh, and Microsoft Office. Apple's interest in open source is more of the system/library part, not the front end user experience.
Grid computing, Open Source and Cloud computing] require a technical understanding to get to their importance. I don't think C-level executives and managers have that understanding.
In my country, we have a saying: "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" In this case, the milk is open source software and the cow is the developer.
You forgot the lame jokes, the followups by people explaining it was a joke, the followups by people who didn't realize it was a joke and try to repeat it, the complaints about the editors, the complaints about the moderators, the dupe/oldnews posts, and the people who didn't read the article and comment on something unrelated.
The SDK is XCode and GCC. Neither one cares which license you use. Apple's iPhone app store requires signing, which conflicts withe the GPLv3, but it doesn't prevent using the GPLv2 or other open source licenses and it doesn't prevent you from distributing the code (or binaries).
and the money is allocated on what thousands/millions of individual people want, not what 3 or 4 people, 2,000 miles away, think will get them reelected.
more importantly, which one(s) feature a planet full of jar jars and the ability to rip off their heads and shit down their necks after a slow and painful death involving pliers and sodomy?
based on Microsoft not contesting it. Based on Sony not contesting it. Based on Nintendo contesting it and losing. That seems like a pretty good case.
probably a lot like how they're harmonizing with Tibet and Taiwan.
I think he's referring to the cherrypal's vga out. (I own an nslu2 and am interested in non-x86 computers).
The Efika doesn't have wifi or VGA and has only half the ram.
More memory than efika, wireless, not lame.
He's smoking pole. If you want some, just go to the men's room and tap your foot 3 times.
If the bus isn't full and you otherwise wouldn't have paid, then what's the problem?
Firefox will eventually use tamarin, which should be on par with Squirelfish.

gzip is highly compressed, too.
The best movie villain you've come across... Were you that guy masturbating in the theatre?
hiring rackspace is relying on third party technology.
That too. If the FSF cared about the user having access to the source code, they should prefer that over a precompiled binary.
And...? GPL code can link to non-GPL libraries.

How about the backing storage? If shit happens, I'd rather try to recover from text files than binary chunks
or compile for a vm (java, .net, parrot, llvm).
maybe you should start writing them instead of posting to slashdot?

desktop PPC is an evolutionary dead end, but it's still in consoles, embedded, and servers.
I didn't know he was a turd burglar!
