With this scenario you are essentially turning the console gaming arena into the pc gaming arena.
There is one big reason the console systems are soo popular compared to pc's. The fact that Joe Consumer doesn't have to worry about if his console has X feature. It makes console systems the popular choice rather than PC gaming.
There are other reasons why console gaming is king atm but not having to worry about upgrading, and only having to worry where do I put the disc in at is a big reason console's have such a huge market base.
It's good to see google taking an active approach for people that try to abuse their search engine rules. Its one of the things that makes google what it is today. A No BS Search engine, a search engine I can trust, and NO POP-UP ADS!
There were alot more reasons to buy a N64 than just goldeneye. Mario and Zelda is usually more than enough reason to buy an N64 and to add to the fact N64 had the best wrestling games of that generation of next gen systems. Goldeneye wasn't the "only" reason to have an N64. I didn't even own goldeneye myself.
Now I'm half way through the twin towers and knew about Gandalf being alive, but since I heard about them revealing himself in the trailer. I already feel a little bit ripped off. That should have been a surprise to the ppl who haven't read the books. I guess they figured everyone has read the books already which a very dumbass mistake.
MTV2 is the all music channel now, but sadly I'm afraid they'll just turn MTV2 in the MTVreruns and have all the retired shows playing their reruns there.
Re:No, you can't get MTV a la cart, read it again.

Cable TV A La Carte?

· Score: 1
Actually they are required by law to offer only the local channels aka Basic Cable.
I totally agree with this. Cable CO's would actually have to do some marketing for once instead of relying on their monopolies they have over towns throughout the US.
SatTV would have given Cable Co's a some fierce competition something they've never had before and now never will.
Honestly the only way Sattelite TV was to be a threat to Cable television and end their monopoly reign over people is to merge Echostar and Dtv. With Echostar and Dtv merged into 1 company, they could offer all the locals to all markets, but with the merger being block local channels can only be offered to some markets instead of all of them.
Cable Co's feared a merged Echostar/Dtv, as they wouldn't have a monopoly anymore and Sattelite TV was a real threat with all local market channels being offered but they have nothing to fear now.
The ppl who are rooting for MS are the ones who put all their money into one stock, and that stock would be Microsoft's.
MS has clearly shown they have broken the law and should be punished accordingly.
All you need is to figure out how the Flux Compacitor works. Gettinh to 88mph with some plutonium is a cake walk. We can time travel to steal the future's inter-stellar travel secrets!!
That's the one thing about Enterprise I hope the commander just doesn't leap into another dimenson never to return. OOOOH the shame in that if it was to happen!
I liked both DS9 and TNG.
Voyager still makes me want to vomit just thinking about it. I haven't really watched Enterprise enough to make a comment on it.
surviving till the cost of the hardware is to a point where. Joe Cosumer will buy the equipment to get hooked up. $300 for equipment is a little pricey for something you have to pay a monthly fee on. I know thats one of the reasons I haven't gotten it yet, once it gets down to the sub $100 range I'll be seriously looking to get one.
Directv and E* aka Satellite TV didn't really take off till the cost of the equipment got to a point to where Joe Consumer would buy it. Heck they give the receivers away free nowadays with a service commitment of a year.
Sattelite Radio will be a niche type market item till the cost of equipment comes down in price.
Kind of ironic Nvidia is trying to have their card look better in games and have their competition look shitty by paying the developers of games do so. Maybe the next generation of Nvidia cards won't be all the great from them. Why else would they have to resort to this.
All this will do in the end, is drive ppl away from PC games and more towards consoles. The PC Game market isn't in the greatest shape atm and this will only compound the problem.
Latley after seen ass this crap the RIAA has been trying to do and I really haven't had any interest in buying any CD's. After seeing this post about them trying to tax(that's what it really is isn't it?) and I'm really less inclined to buy a CD. All this crap with the RIAA is old I'd rather just listen to the radio anymore.
How long before they make a stab a XMradio they do have a potiential to slow CD sales even more. CD Quality radio in your car w/o buying the CD omg!!!! RIAA gonna be on their arse pretty fast.
Also I think the reason why CD sales have been slow has been a combination of bad press about the music industry(thx RIAA!), CD's never wear out(yes, you can get a scratch on them but alot of ppl take care of their cd's and alot of cd player's are pretty tolerant of scratches.) unlike old cassete tapes that eventually got eaten by your player or just wore out from overplay, and the closing down of napster(I know I was alot more into buying CD's back then).
Just another example of M$ doing whatever it takes to make a dent in the console market. I wouldn't be surprised if they drop the price further if this doesn't spurt sales.
Heck I wouldn't be surprised if they started giving them away free if it gets really bad, just so they can make a dent on their installed base!

Wouldn't this violate the settlement agreement MS has with the States?
hence the "beta" label on froogle atm

but they won't let Dtv and E* merge to compete against the Cable Co's. It makes me sick.
