  4. I have a better question: Is Math Transuniversal? on Is Mathematics Discovered Or Invented? · · Score: 1

The invented or discovered dilemma is easily solved by this argument: any basic FACT (not ARTIFACT) that other (possibly imaginary) intelligent alien life discovers (or invents), and it happens to be the same as our discovery (or invention), then it was really *discovered*. So, this applies to Math and to Physics. If they happen to discover the fire, then we both *discovered* the fire. If they invent the wheel, then nothing can be said about it through this argument (because the wheel is an artifact).

But I have a better question. Is Mathematics Transuniversal? What I mean is:

Do mathematics (or at least a subset of it) belong only to *our* universe (or some other look-alike universes)? Or can it be said to belong to ALL POSSIBLE UNIVERSES?

Why in the hell would a software have different features for similar processors??? Tip: $$$.

Even if an AMD could handle 15 users in a conference call, they are hard limiting it to 5. This is so shameful to Skype. I'm sure this is one of the things Google means with "do no evil".

I'm sure that this will eventually be circumvented with a 'crack', but, after all, why support a company that does this. Switch to other software...

    Google Talk does conference call:

TeamSpeak did conference call way before Skype:

  17. Implication on Information Theory and Probabilitie on Quantum Information Can be Negative · · Score: 1

Information is defined as -log2(p), where p is the probability of the event. E.g, in a coin toss, the probability of H(ead) or T(ail) is 0.5, so the information about this event is -log2(0.5) == 1 (i.e, 1 bit).

Negative information means that the probability p must be higher than 1... well, if this is true, then an entire new probability theory (or quantum information theory) will have to be built!
