This simple HTML still crashes Beta2. It will probably still crash the RTM. This was a trick I found back in 2002. I had reported it somewhere, but obviously nowhere important.
As others have stated, Clamwin is not an On Access Scanner. So, as the virus enters and infects your computer, Clamwin sits idly by in your taskbar waiting to either update its database or perform a scheduled scan, but most certainly not warn you or block you from getting infected.
Clamwin is a Virus Scanner, and I seem to remember that the default behavior is to just Report problems, not delete or quarantine.
After you've already been infected and the damage has been done, Clamwin might be able to tell you that you have a virus, and it might not even clean the virus for you.
I know a couple people who install clamwin for their family members - telling them that Clamwin will keep you safe. Clamwin is not protection.
Stopping at noon? That sounds like and April fools joke. Here in the states, April fools lasts all day. Not everyone can get their fool on by Noon.
And to quote Alan Jackson, "It's five o'clock somewhere." So at a minimum, us GMT-5 folks could get another joke on until it's 5am in the UK. And at a max, we could follow our western most time zone at GMT-10 in Hawaii and get one more fool in when you're having your April 2nd morning tea.

Backups run faster. Restores run faster. Users largely won't notice a difference - other than faster mailbox access and when archived content is accessed, it takes a few seconds to retrieve the content back into the live database.
Based on a series of numeric knocks can seem secure, but how succeptible is this to snooping?
What if this relied on a RSA SecureID tag for its number sequence? Though it could be more secure if the RSA fob were a separate device and you were required to enter the number; however, convenience would embed the RSA inside the unlocker knocker and not require manual entry.
This is, in fact, more proof that norton truely does suck.
Sorry, I've never used norton myself, but I've had to work with people unfortunate enough to be troubled by norton's incessany whining.
But microsoft has a larger customer base to consider when releasing product. If M$ had a customer base as small as Apple's, I'm sure they'd be able to put out new releases every six months as well.
Macromedia sells JRun, a Java Application Server, which they acquired when they absorbed Allaire.
I'm guessing that if M$ bought Macromedia, we would see another Java to.Net conversion tool from Microsoft.
Or would Microsoft continue to support a Java Application Server - yeah right.
I use IE and haven't seen pop-ups in a very long time. My work keeps me on the internet almost constantly.
I think it's more that many home users install crap (whenu.com software, toolbars, search helpers, malware crap).
I use SpyBot S&D to scan for malware and the like. Usually I find mostly tracking cookies on my computers, but I find loads of crappy malware on my families' computers.
By putting google links on slashdot are you inadvertantly affecting the Google Timeline?
At the end of the year, the Google Timeline will show huge a spike in these three picture searches on August 10 - but only for a day - maybe two. Then the searches will dwindle back to normal.
Will the Site Referrer be availalble to analysts? Or will analysts be stuck with trying to figure out what major news event has linked these three honeys?
What's difficult about publishing content on akamai?
I drop a file on my webserver and the content will be automatically published to a server geographically local to whomever accesses the content. I publish my content directly to my website as I always have. I never publish the content anywhere else.
I don't need to configure individual files to be available through bittorrent.
Clients accessing my content don't need a plugin.
BT & Ak both work well even if my ISP doesn't have a hub running akamai.
If it is in any way a replacement for Akamai - why is BT's website just text? (maybe because you can't bittorrent content like you can akamize content)
Is BitTorrent is a poor man's Akamai?
Hardly.
Besides - bittorrent is just files. Akamai has several different types of services most related to distributed content distribution. From individual files to whole websites can be hosted on the Akamai network. [nba.com] is completely hosted on the akamai network - requests to nba.com rarely ever hit the core servers.
Okay - so if my neighbor is a jerk and runs through my livingroom with his Ford expedition - I can sue Ford for making a vehicle that is "defective" or "buggy" because it is capable of smashing through walls? Yeah, right.
And if I'm driving down broadway and clip a messenger on a bike - that's the auto manufacturer's fault for making a vehicle that can hurt someone? Yeah, okay.
Windows & SQL with Code Red and Slammer are like vehicles with an idiot behind the wheel.
Like suing mcdonalds for getting fat - it's not their fault you can't close your piehole.
Thinkpad T43, daily use. I've had the laptop at least 3.5 years, but this is my second hard drive.
SmartCTL shows his drive is at 727231. I didn't renew my warranty after three years. My first replacement was covered.
Unlike vista, Win7 is actually pretty snappy on this machine, but I'm more comfortable here back in Ubuntu.

Uh... So when are we going to see a consumer version of this beast? Ala, the Jeep and the Hummer.

A language that is easy to learn does not guarantee good code.
Even the worst logic or options can be generated from the best languages. Some lovely examples can be found over heres.
We wanted you dead anyway.
It's beta software. Of course there will be bugs. The public B2 is much better than the leaked B2 which was still better than B1.
Taken with grain of salt... it's still beta.
Why is this getting coral cached?
Are people scared of viewing this video directly through google?
I have to think google can handle the traffic on this.
Bugs are allowed, but software "should" be tested and patched before release.
Can't they use Windows XP N from europe (that nobody wants to use)?
Windows Messenger CAN be uninstalled - that's a right of the computer maker.
And the computer maker is already capable of installing whatever additional software they choose.

I want a 1280x1024 projector. They're just projecting a keyboard.
I agree. My sites collect about 500,000 pageviews a day and my stats seem very similar to those shown above.
IE : 96.30%
Netscape : 1.96%
Mozilla : 0.98%
Apple : 0.64%
Opera : 0.07%
Other : 0.05%
My visitors are mostly joe bloe average people looking around on job sites.
My IE stats haven't changed much in the past year other than a rise in IE6 and a drop in IE5/5.5.
I think G-nome forgot to leave room inside his case for the keyboard.

I thought EFI was Microsoft's implementation of BIOS. They just picked a well known hardware vendor to introduce their plan.
