    As for phone use while driving, statistics do show that hey have caused a massive increase in accidents, but the actual accidents in this case are almost all rear-enders and other more or less serious fender benders;

    Well, except for my previous vehicle...t-boned by a teenage texter cruising through a red light at ~60mph. Rolled me right over on the roof, totaled truck.
    And it wasn't a 'last second red thing. Rather, she had a full 10 seconds of red light, with no one looking out the window.

    Luckily, neither of us were seriously hurt. The only real damage was to my wallet, for a replacement vehicle.

    Per capita countries like Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, SA kind of don't count, due to the nebulous and small population count. If 3/4 of the people there are not citizens but rather immigrants (read slave labor), the numbers might be a bit skewed.

    Some years ago, a babysitter we hired had, unbeknownst to us, a boyfriend in prison. She called him in prison a couple of times from our house phone.
    We let her go for other reasons.

    One evening, the phone rings. "This is a call from WTF Prison, for Mary Jones. Will you accept the call and charges?"
    "No, I will not". And I hung up.

    In this scenario, now my voice print would be captured and logged. Not cool.

    Listening to NPR last week about voting registration, etc, one of the commentators said that she was going to tell all her Republican relatives that election day had been changed to Wednesday.
    All of the other panelists agreed that this was acceptable, and a good idea.

    I know where he lives, his age, how much he paid to move (too much), what kind of car he drives. And his pet dog is overdue for a shampoo.
    If it ever comes to it...he loses. I've had this account since gmail was invite only.

    F1 cars are designed for that. It's not just the harness. They also cost lots and lots of money.
    If you want that level of 'safety', shell out $1,000,000 for your grocery getter, and be prepared to rebuild it after every little fender bender.

    USAF, we used to push or pull F-16 or F-15, by hand. 4 guys, 30,000 lbs of aircraft. Not far, and zero grade. But it was done.
