    Does anyone know of a standalone DV recorder? Something with a composite/svideo input, maybe sound, a compression codec and a DV tape.

    No CCD, no LCD, just a really small recorder.

    I know the addition of the A/D is different than
    most cameras, but I want to use it with an external lipstick camera. Then I can put the recorder in a pack for mountain-bike use, or in a dry-box for kayak use.

    Do any miniDV full cameras allow an external camera??

    1920 x 1080i (or 1280x720p if you go that way).

    Pretty low, actually. And most current TVs don't display anywhere near 1920, more like 1440 or 1280.

    I have a friend who made one of these... but for use in Texas.

    As I recall, it involved a very large tank of liquid nitrogen to freeze the water as it left the nozzle.

    Unfortunately, the nozzle kept clogging before very much snow could be made.

    That and snow never sticks here.

    I want the ability to rank songs on the iPod, and have that information transfered back to my MP3 server.

    That way, I can have it send me random tracks from my collection, but I can vote them up and down to not get bad stuff again...

    Some phone companies recognize this as "Call Forwarding 2".

    Keep at them until they admit it exists.

    Worked great for rolling over my landline to my cell phone (and thus voice mail). Atleast until I dropped my landline and say buh-bye to the bastards!
