Possibily offtopic but if you think this view should be heard mod it up:
The Microsoft source code leak was intentional. By doing this Microsoft can attack Open Source but not closed source products. How? By tempting Open Source projects such as Wine to use the Windows code that has been released.
Any of thier code that is then later found in Open Source is then attacked legally. Closed source can more easily `copy` code from OSS than vise-versa because of the less transparency in closed sourced code. Additionally, OpenSource has little if no legal funding.
Proving it and gaining evidence in favour:
- The code released is one of the more useful of sections of source code compared to the the rest of the OS to Open Source projects.
- The code released contains IP of a lower value to the corporation.
There may be other ways of finding out more detail.

"Cypak says the card's encryption can't be copied or broken, enabling it to deliver "military-class security."" ^ well fate is tempted. I'd say slashdotters will take about 3 months to crack it after being distributed commonly...:)
When I found that courses are run with programming only in mind I relised that it'll mature in time.
Computers are supposed to be an everyday tool by now. Using them as such - a ready to use tool should be legit. You should have to learn how to dev to study computing.
There are a few examples though:
- Electronic Music course - Modern Journalism - some networking courses - Basic Office app courses
If it's not Child Porn they pick out some other emotive but badly reasoned argument.
What the hell has the internet got to do with this ->
"Earlier this month, it was reported that a man convicted of murdering a special needs teacher by strangulation has been a regular visitor to pornographic Web sites that included images of necrophilia."
Goodness me, they are bent on silencing political activists!
Goal: Make your product name a part of everyday language
Analogy: Vacuum cleaner; Hoover
Reaction: Legally acknowledge (or prove as hopefully it has been done) that the word is in common use and so is not used as a valid company name or product.
i.e. The word Windows means Windows like it always did. We have double the power here because the word wasn't invented
I play less games these days because I find they're a quick hit.
If you're running around you get a longer lasting pick-me-up but I find that with games you just get addicted so while it's good for the first 10 hours you then get a bit depressed and withdrawn.
I'd really like to be able to combine the two like:
- DDR - the arcade games where you do something physical; the rowing games, paddle games, mountain biking, surf, skate, racing games that move you, VR games that get you to move... etc
The problem I'm finding at the moment is that it's just home gaming in everyone apart from Asia. And there isn't much you can do with that, DDR being the exception.
The best I've found is Sega World but other than the 5 all day offer they sometimes do it's 1 a game ($2) which is crazy.
Anyone got any links to other relevent stuff other than DDR?
** I wondered anyone has ever considered using a warehouse size place, chuck people in with wireless VR helmets and the like and watch them run about. Good idea? The thing I've found with VR at the moment is that it doesn't really let you move, which is why I found the flying simulators ub the mid nineties so good.

ABILITY TO SEE SOMETHING ELSE OTHER THAN IMPROVED GRAPHICS!!
Aggh this drives me mad! Please, please I don't care if it looks good, you only bother with it because pretty pictures market well.

Ok maybe it is a troll but would you still mod down if it's an important point to make?

Cod Liver Oil,
and Omega-3 fatty acid containing foods.
The brain is mostly made up of these and supplying them seems to help.
The evidence I heard was from a study involving bad kids. Basically they gave them cod liver oil and after 6 months improvements were measured.
ah, the law of Uniformitarianism

to make people think I'm smart.
It does work and this is not a joke or troll.
It may be more logical,
but it's more memory intensive - visuals are easier to remember. Well, I find it easier to remember visuals rather than words.

It's quite possible, if people don't renew thier subscriptions that the 20,000 may never be reached.
Conversely, someone could say one day "Let's all subscribe for just one month" and code will be released.

I'm sure that would develop the fattest portfolio.
I wanted to study applied computing too.

Unfortunately I need Alluvium to listen.
Because I don't have admin rights to the computer I use to access the internet, I can't listen because you need to instal Java.
What a pain this is. I'm missing out on more and more content because people aren't aware that some of us have to share a computer.
That's good art :)
So all you need to do is stick a fluorescent light underneath?
Or not as it becomes slashdotted ;)

Speaking of freedom networks, has anyone got any links for people trying to produce durable wireless networks - `gorilla wifi`?
