Ok, I see alot of "oh just use Mozilla or Opera or Pheonix". Well, what do you suggest I do when I want to access my bank account (www.netbank.com) and cannot because they have problems with Mozilla not always working right so just decided to disable it entirely? What about the flash-enabled pages I want to visit that, in IE work fine, but in Mozilla hang with a persistent "Loading...." screen? Or the plethora of other sites that don't work right?
Now I am not saying it's Mozillas fault, I'm sure alot of the offbeat layout problems are actually the designers screw up, but that doesn't change the fact that I cannot view the site. If adhering solidly to standardsmeans you cannot view more than just a few websites, then I guess I will have to use that "crappy" IE6. Another thing, I don't appreciate a piece of software that, after taking as long as it did to be released, makes my PC respond like a PII 400Mhz with PC66 RAM. God help you if you minimize Moz for awhile and do other things, you'd think it died when you restored the window! No other browser acts like that.
My point is, lets come up with solutions to this problem that are a bit more practical than "only use these browsers to view only these sites". Because that is NO solution.

So if I get up and go to the bathroom during commercial break how is this ANY different than skipping commercials?
Anyone care to take bets on wether or not they would charge you for skipping the same commercial more than once (say on subsequent viewings)?
Or how is this any different from using a VCR to record a show and fast-forward through the commercials?
Once again it all boils back down to corporations wanting to govern what YOU do, what you watch, what you can do with it, how you can keep it. Once you let them slip their greasy little paws in the door they will gain more and more control. I am really getting so sick and damned tired of the way things are going. The comments mentioning Wi-Fi killing 3G are, sadly, not entirely accurate. While it owuld be nice to have one wireless technology driving our data traffice, 3G has some nice benefits that Wi-Fi just cannot compare to yet. Roaming between towers, distance, and most importantly, foothold. While 3G itself may not have a foothold in our modern lives, cellphones do. And at some point in their lives wireless service providers are going to move us all over to 3G, our current service will go the way of analog, and wether we like it our not we all all have "Vision capable phones" or we won't have phones at all. The same cannot be saif for Wi-Fi, you can live without Wi-fi, you can't consolidate your wireless phone into Wi-Fi (somehow VoIP just doesnt cut it there). So from a standard users point of view, the choice is simple.
One service, high-speed, data AND voice services, small, usefull PDA-replacing devices that get better and better every generation. Or a technology thats, not secure, not widespread, only carries their data traffic. Wouldn't be the first time the technical merits of a technology failed to convince the populous it was the better path to take.
Between the damned reposts, and the redundancy in this article, and the stupid-ass comment about MP3's (come on ass-hat, you MUST realize that nobody in their right mind has a personal MP3 collection even half that size, is this your first week in the tech biz?) this crap is starting to get rather irrirtating, damned glad I don't pay for this site. The movie isn't for everyone, but if you care to be engaged by a movie in several ways (either by passively just following it, or actually trying to figure it out as you go, and see the underlying meanings and goings-on) it's certainly worth the extended 1.5 hour toture you will certainly bear with this horrid piece of trash that oh I guess isn't so bad after all and beats watching Mission to Mars....
