Heh, when I am at OSU (soon, oh so soon), I make sure I have stuff queued up at least a day ahead. At off times, I usually get about 1000 k a second. Anyway, all I'm saying is that the talk between clients is peanuts compared to what is being downloaded. Not necessarily not seeing the forest through the trees, just more like purposely ignoring the forest while focusing on the trees.
I always thought that battlebots was kind of dumb. I mean, at first it was interesting because it was new, but after it's newness wore off, it got very boring. Most people won by flipping their opponent over. I could enter a hampster in a ball and stand a chance. (Mutated, ill-tempered hampster, of course).
All I'm saying is there really was no battle. It ought to have been last robot to move, or until surrender. I mean, where were the hydraulic crushers, or the high power lasers. Or anything really. Something that can be damaged by a good kick doesn't deserve to be called a battle bot.
That's a very interesting use for that phrase. Almost like a plea, rather than what it usually means. I think that being something like "heil big brother". Maybe there should be one or two please's in there to help people understand.
They'll then suspiciously mill around the plane for a while in plain view of the neighbors with signs up saying "Die America" and "Kablooie Empire State Building". After a while, they'll take off and ram into the Empire State building.
While shooting their their guns in the air. (Maybe I watch too much tv. CNN I mean.) On an even furthur unrelated note, I wonder how many parties/terrorist plots are ruined by falling bullets. I bet it's a lot.
Yeah but what sites are they going to be? Not slashdot, and definitely not warez or pr0n sites. Not reuters, AP, or the NYTimes. So, basically, nothing I care about. I mean, I do spend a lot of time browsing microsoft's web site, but honestly, I think I can do without the engaging reading material there.
Yeah yeah yeah, just because you can't think for a use for it now doesn't mean that it doesn't have one, or that it never will. I thank you for your expert opinion though, really.
I personally rip all of my dvd's. Right after you rip them, and right before you encode them, they take up something like 8gb(is it 8? whatever). DMCA be damned, my tv is 15 inches (I'm a college student ok), and my monitor is 19. Plus despite how long cd's are supposed to last, they never do. I remember once my brother "cleaned" one with a brillo pad. And then those double sided ones I'm just afraid to touch.
Well, why get just one when you can have two for twice the price? That's how you back it up. Need to back up your back up? Hm... Nope, can't help you there.
There should be a slashdot "whack-a-mole" (whack-a-troll?) game where nerds pop up instead of moles and say things like Imagine a Beowulf cluster of these, and Yeah, but can you run linux on it.
Just out of curiousity, and on an only remotely related note, how many people here have ever actually seen a beowulf cluster? I think they're like nerd unicorns.
HP is a sinking ship. Before the merger, HP had serious problems, all of which have been aggravated since the merger. They have lost market share, and are losing money and don't for a minute think it's because they give lousy customer service. I am a repair technician. Recently, a customer who bought an Officejet G-85, a single unit that prints, scans, faxes and copies. It failed in about a month, but more than 14 days, so the retailer wouldn't take it back.
Sorry - I know there is some good art, literature, music and science being made in the USA today. I'm just saying you're over-stating your point.
Yeah, except that you violate the DMCA simply by looking at it, and subsequently never get to pass go again. (yeah, monopoly)
Dang, I'm full of wordplay tonight.:)
Yeah, they called radio shack to get a flux capacitor, but they keep saying they'll be "in next week". I'm starting to think they don't actually have them.
You know what that sounds like? (you probably don't know about this unless you live in the US) It sounds like the case where the one guy impregnated his teenage (16) stepdaughter with a syringe against her will. He was found guilty and was angry because he felt that the jurors could not put aside their moral objections to this because under the law, this was not rape, so really, he was not guilty.
Some people might say that this is apples to oranges. To that I answer, I'm moving to Canada.
Seriously though, flame me if you want, but I think capital punishment and war(murder, especially an open ended war) is barbaric, and I'm sick of being dragged down just to line someone else's pockets. I would fight for the convenience of staying, but beyond that, why stay?

I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with dollar. That's right, it's dollars. (does that last 's' make them not rhyme?)
What else could be better to combat palladium?

(Sorry girls) Are there even any girls who read this site? More importantly, will they marry me?
Hm. I remember in Jr. High we used to put lots of straws together and drink milk from across the room. Think that would work?
Ok, I give up, what's the lesson?

just because there was a warranty behind the curtain doesn't make it not cool. Just less cool.

I've asked this many times of many, and I've never received any response other than a shrug.
I dunno *shrugs*

So you're saying I should buy stock in HP then???

Heh, it's not exactly like it's a learn as you go kind of thing now is it.
"enjoy screwing with the minds of others?"
"do you take sadistic pleasure in your work?"
Then You may qualify to Become a Minion for his Satanic Majesty today
actually, it sounds like I might like this job.

You rooted his machine too? Damn, that is bad.

It's all about having your patent application delivered by a stripper. :)
On the other hand, if I'm building a new home, I like to think that it's going to be around for that long ya know?
