    What exact government necessary widgets is linux missing that windows and osx have? Too many people repeat the tired old "linux isn't ready for the desktop" line, without even really saying why.

    I suffer from lack of photographic memory, thus such devices are my aids. On a similar note, my ability to perfectly memorize movies and music is also impaired, thus I am justified in downloading MP3's and movies.

    I agree. Althought I currently use Gentoo now that I am more experienced, Mandrake was a pretty enjoyable and painless introduction to linux for me

    What I want to know is why large animals need a larger brain to handle their bodies, and brain:body mass ratios are considered more important than absolute brain mass. It shouldn't require more data processing just to run a larger body, when most of its processes are regulated without the brain. Furthermore, it sounds like that wasn't the case for dinosaurs, some of which had little bird-sized brains in enormous bodies.
    That is just an excuse by the people who don't wish to aknowledge the high intelligence of whales and dolphins.
