things such as Litestep allow you to dump the explorer shell. then you can simply use other browsers and file managers instead of explorer. I prefer to use cygwin and mc along with phoenix.
Very true. the real linux pros will make it look like they want it to look, and the corporate desktop users will be able to make it look like they want it to look (user friendly, etc). As long as it GAINS deskspace, then I don't see a problem with adding a few bells and whistles for the user who may not know alot about computers beyond the Windows/Mac desktop.
The whole benefit of Linux is that it can be whatever you want it to be,and you are not fixed into a single framework, such as Windows.
roll the dice, pick a number....
3.0 does sound like a good choice though since it may finally define a new starting point for the kernel since it has elvolved much since the 2.2 days.
Now why don't they put webcams all over the space station so we can see where all our $$$ is going to. It would be pretty sweet to be able to view the earth and the station from all over 24/7.
You sent us 1385 spam messages.
We had not seen 18 of them before.
We prosecuted 58 of the spammers:
13 were shot
19 were beheaded
26 were forced to read spam in prison
And a few seemed like good solutions to our impotence and small penis problems
1.4 is quite nice. And there is word that platform dependant executables will be the next step for Java, which will make installing java aps much easier.
I see no real use for.Net, it's an unwanted latecommer to a party. And it doesn't even bring a gift.
I hate when something I hate does something I like.
describes my ex-wife perfectly...... Then again she's just like M$... she also wants all of my money, provides inconsistant service, and blows up for no apparent reason.....
... that an idea like this (which was badly needed) may help to progress distros and releases. This is what the Linux community has needed for way too long to finally get Linux on more desktops.
We're far from being a steel city these days. I've been here 4 years now and I have yet to see a single steel mill. All of them are long gone and demolished, and turned into plazas, parks, and condos.
Pittsburgh is now leading the way as a tech city.
LOL, I'm right in South Side (http://www.theCnik.com for a picture of the view)... It's actually pretty nice here (and I moved here on purpose 4 years ago). It's much better than the hell of Cleveland/Parma where I moved from...:)
same here...... I never want to be a paper pusher. I prefer to keep myself knee deep in code.
I've had numerous offers to be part of management teams, and all of the offers seemed quite lame, and all the same: sit around and twiddle with MS Project all day.... this is NOT my idea of fun.

the only downside is that I often have to do a manual reload of a page since there appears to be no way to tell it to check for an updated page.

I just keep asking myself "Is This Trip Really Necessary" everytime I see a HURD update.
could be worse, could be Linux XP

I think they call that the Ejection Seat
Something that crashes ust a few short seconds after starting.... Microsoft would call that a success :)

I was just about to say that! SAP/R3 is LOADED with more tables than you can imagine.
you would first have to admit that you bought a Celiene Dion CD and an iMac... I'm actually suprised that this problem ever came to light.
