Normally, this sort of comment is made by an idiot. While you are at work your expectation of privacy, as far as your location, time spent doing your job and not doing your job, etc. are not privacy issues. Your expectation of privacy while at work is nil. Your email is monitored, your location is monitored, your output of work is monitored.
While you are not at work, your expectation of privacy is completely different, but then the issue would be moot -- the GPS system wouldn't be operating for these drivers.
So while you are on the job, at work, under contract, whatever, the simple fact is: you have no privacy.
Why is this newsworthy? My MSMouse already scrolls horizontally -- if you click with the wheel, you get a cursor with arrows in the direction that the page is available to scroll in. This has been built into the software for at least a couple of years......
I say let it fall and hold a lottery as to where it will hit. Pony up $5 to buy a chance of winning and with your $5 you get a free blast shield that will keep the thing from killing you when it hits. This would be the ultimate office pool....
My thoughts exactly. This is not a new issue, though, as many people sue for royalties only after the game/movie/book that "threatens their identity" has hit it big. You rarely see them suing over some unknown game/movie/book that is sitting in the bargain bin at Hastings.....
My reply about the context menu button was in response to this posting:
"In a similar vein...does ANYONE find that "context menu" key useful, the one to the right of the righthand windows key?"
The context menu button is, IMO, the best thing to happen to keyboards in a long while. For Christ's sake...it's effectively a "right click" mouse button! However, it's on your keyboard - so it's one less reason to take your hands off the keyboard. Brilliant!
Nothing was mentioned about the windows keys, just the context menu button. Granted, it is the same as a right click on the mouse (thank you for pointing that out....), but the question remained if anyone found the key useful or not...
But contractors had balked, saying the phones were not proven reliable as an accounting system used for payment.
Nothing is mentioned about an invasion of privacy or an Orwellian allusion. Only us paranoid geeks brought this out....While you are not at work, your expectation of privacy is completely different, but then the issue would be moot -- the GPS system wouldn't be operating for these drivers.

I almost forgot -- here on /., the sarcasm tags never work.....
Watching porn on my PS2. heh, heh, heh
Shakin with the bacon on the TV!
Dude, Nemo's mother dies??? Thanks for the preview..... would you mind summarizing the rest of the movie????
One can only hope for so much in this life -- the end of inane, annoying commercials.... right
Bunch of damned perverts!!!
you gotta love Young Frankenstein....
"He's been formatted."
"I clocked him all the way back to a C prompt.""I gave him a dll error he'll never forget."
Sorry, I just had to get those off my chest....This has turned ugly... at the bottom of a creek, you will find sediment, however a sedamint has a completely different flavor.....
Man, isn't that redundant?
Sorry, I just had to....
/C:
what the hell is that????

Wouldn't have anything to do with the simple fact that the movie was atrocious? I nodded off during this mess.....

Wrong -- one Grokster and several fileshare's...
Yes, but as far as consoles go, the GT franchise has been as close to reality as you can get....
I am not giving them mine................

Don't you love AC's and their insight?
