Regardless of whether or not CO2 is the culprit for global warming, this NASA simulation has proven, once and for all, that the earth is, in fact, flat.
I have a laptop with a mobile core i7 processor.
It takes me 2 or 3 minutes to cross compile a linux kernel for an embedded arm device. I run my compiler in a VM.
38 seconds is nice, but not mind-blowing.
I enjoy seeing a certain female aesthetic in my entertainment. My wife enjoys seeing a certain male aesthetic in her entertainment. Neither of us are anywhere near a societal ideal.
It's entertainment, and we can separate fantasy of seeing an attractive person in a film from the reality of our monogomous and happy relationship.
I think that assume that other people can't do the same is infantilizing.
In my opinion, lashing out in a way that involves harming others or destroying their property is not justifiable, with the exception of imminent danger.
We bought a house and the seller paid for a year of a home warranty service. So far, we have had plumbing snaked out, The garage door repaired, and our dishwasher replaced, free of charge.
Any activity that causes the body to releases dopamine or happy-fun chemicals like norepinephrine can be addictive. Video games, exercise, sex, drugs. I would think that some things, like playing with your phone or getting swole, are more innocuous.
Oh my god that's way too long! Whatever will someone do for a whole 24 minutes? Maybe they could microwave something while they wait... Oh no the burrito will take 6 minutes! Why is life so cruel?
The amusement park went through thousands of hirings and firings. It was labour intensive work, but for a college student with no labor skills, the 80+ hour work weeks were a steady source of summer cash. For work like trash collection, it was difficult getting people, both domestic and foreign, to apply for those jobs. In some of these H2-B cases, these are actually jobs Americans don't want.
It seems like the range on the cars is such that in most cases, people can charge their cars when they get home from work.
And for long trips, where it might take an hour to charge the battery every 200 to 300 miles, I personally wouldn't mind stopping for an hour, grabbing a bite to eat, and relaxing.
Wow, those all sound like high profile works of entertainment and not garbage. I'm sure going to be disappointed at all the spoilers from the masses frantically downloading and watching these quality shows.
Some of the food my wife buys has that "non-gmo project verified" label on it. While I personally have no problem with GMOs, that would be a good example of a private consumer group setting a standard without the need for the federal government to do so.
SSD's are great. I usually buy cheap refurb and fairly low-end laptops for personal use, and putting a cheap SSD in them is a cost-effective way to get them to perform fairly well.
When the manufacturers ramp up production to the point that a new or used electric vehicle will be sub-$15,000, this would be great, albeit unnessecary at that point. At the current price of electric vehicles, this is just a rebate for the upper class.
I understand where the article is coming from, though.
Several years ago, I was prescribed an SSRI for anxiety and depression. The first two weeks of taking it made me feel out of myself, like I was a zombie. It wasn't a buzz, it wasn't a fog, it was just this feeling of depersonalization. The first few weeks could be viewed as "demotivating" because I just really didn't care about much in my zombie like state.
Everything was dulled. Over the course of those two weeks, this dullness started lifting and I felt like myself again. It took a few more months to adjust completely. Now, I would say my motivation is better than before, because a blanket that made me doubt myself constantly has been lifted.
I empathize with the father. Grief gives most people irrational thinking that only clears with time and acceptance.
Bargaining is part of that thinking. "If only Tesla hadn't made the vehicle so damn fast..."
Smart phones are so cheap that they're not a good indicator of luxury or wealth. An Android phone on a prepaid plan only costs $30.

House had both a 3 year old air conditioner and roof, which was a buying point for us.

They're relatively inexpensive, reversible, not a complex or invasive, and don't involve hormone changes. I'd rather do that than take a pill.
And they said that MBA's were useless. Sure showed them.

Woody Harrelson has been in plenty of decent films. "The People Vs Larry Flynt" and "White Men Can't Jump" immediately come to mind.

An infinitely fast computer should be able to interpret my programming abstractions based off of zero lines of code.

The working man now only owes $38,000. Environment and affordability problems solved. Praise the lawmakers.
You don't need to be an alt-righter, or whatever, to hold the opinion that Wu is both a professional victim and toxic individual.

I'm crying all the tears for those rich wall street investors who will get outsourced. Really, I am.
