I thought the iPod didn't have to horsepower to decode vorbis. IIRC most mp3 players have an actual hardware chip that decodes the files, and i also remember a story on here a few months back about the first ogg vorbis decoder chip. Coming soon to cereal boxes near you...
It depends on who you talk too, but it seems like the general concensus over at fireflyfans.net (original discussion) is that its a single system and they dont have FTL, dont rememebr if joss said anything about it on the comentaries tho.
Shows that get bungled by execs and get shuffled into crappy timeslots get canceled... Angel, Firefly, Family Guy, Futurama... But disgusting shows glorifing sick peoples quest for an unrealistic ideal (the swan, i want a famous face) stay on the air. And you thought 'reality' dating shows were bad...
Just curious, do you have the entire series or just the boxed sets. ADV seems intent on screwing everyone by releasing everything seperatly then issuing boxed sets... As it stands i have Season 1 and 2 on dvd and seasons 3 and 4 on my hard drive.
Actually, pardon the pun, Firefly is a bit more down to earth than that. It takes place in one system and it takes them weeks to get between planets or moons of gas giants. No aliens, no FTL, no lasers('cept in those 2 episodes), the only thing unreasonable seems to be artificial gravity, but we'll let that one go...
Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Witch Hunter Robin are all one season series of 26 episodes each. FLCL is one of the best anime shows i've ever seen and its only 6 episodes... I like this because it doesn't get stale and always has a definite ending. Also makes getting the dvd set easier instead of downloading a new episode every week and buying a new boxed set every year...
Just out of curiosity do you have any information on a blackbird replacment? Even if its conspiracy BS it would be interesting. The SR-71 was an amazing plane and served its purpose well, but i cant imagine they liked having a plane that leaked fuel all over the tarmac...
We all know this is in case the crew of the ISS has to abandon it and ends up in some space warp on a planet full of inteligent apes... Wait a minute... Statue of Liberty...that was our planet! You maniacs! You blew it up! Damn you! Damn you all to hell!
I think the sunday night lineup is the best its been in years, not that its all as great as family guy or simpsons in its heyday, but they're all better than fox's tv for the lowest common denominator of society that they run the 5 other nights a week. Also on that note Arrested Development is one of the funniest shows the be on in years and it certanly has its place on sunday night, but i think Family Guy would do well at the 8:30/7:30 central slot they have a repeat simpsons in now.
Already taken a wicked slashdotting... Anyone grab the pics? Also, anyone have a rough translation of the site that isn't down? This is really cool, kinda reminds me of that concept peugeot did that was a warthog from halo. But when can i get one of these?!!
He's talking about the screen, LCDs until now have had crap refresh rates because they didn't really refresh. A cheap LCD nowadays however will have less than 25ms refresh rate, and a good one, esp one for gaming will have less than 16ms, which means no ghosting.
Bongs, or water pipes as they have to legally be called, are perfectly legal if sold with the "For Legal Tobacco Use Only" disclamer. Crack pipes on the other hand are designed quite differently from a normal pipe used to smoke your choice of dried leaves, as crack has to be heated to a higher temperature iirc. Crack pipes are banned most places.
Walmart will complain to AOL and they'll add linux support, which, although AOL sucks, would be a good thing for linux. Think about it, TV ads: "AOL 10.0, now supporting Linux" Jo-sumer:"Hey, whats Linux *asks tech at work* So it works just as good or better than windows and its free?! Sign me up!!". Well, we can hope...
Reminds me of an interesting question posed to me once. What if grass, the plain old green blades out on your lawn, could easily be made into something that could get you high?
I dont know about most, but i'd say definitly a high percentage. If your going by access statistics, most browsers masquerade as IE to trick broken IE only sites. I'm using Opera Right now (on windows however) but its set to identifie as MSIE 6. I'm sure the linux and mac versions do the same thing. I think Moz can do that to, although it may require an extension.

Those speakers look like set pieces/this weeks villan from doctor who.

He said almost religiosly. So it was probably just a goat and a melon. Although this is /., plenty of virgins...

Cant be all BS, the Aurora being a pulse jet would explain those mysterious doughnut contrails.

You already have to pay for privacy. It costs an extra couple of bucks a month to keep your phone number unlisted, this is the same kind of deal.

100 @ 700mb each = about 70gb, and they have 80gb laptop drives. Not that the iPod uses a regular laptop drive, but i want an 80gb ipod....
It was a dove, 90mph fastball thrown by Randy Johnson, AKA the big unit. E-mail or IM me if you want the video, its all over p2p too.
Has one of the best comentaries i've bothered to listen to on any of my dvds.

Same mouse.
Just the employees.

Just add "review" to your search, you'll either come up with actual reviews or a sales website featuring customer eviews, like amazon or newegg has.
