    2.5 million more people unemployed at the end of W's term (the first "President" to have negative job growth in 72 years, since Herbert Hoover) might be a fairly good indicator to the general pop. The extremely low consumer confidence as the enormity of the job loss situation sinks in (and more and more people become more and more nervous about their own situation) will also help.

    Basically, it's the economy, stupid, all over again. You'd have thought W would have learned from H. W. You'd have been wrong.

    Oh, come on. W's Moon/Mars proposal is less funded than "No Child Left Behind". He wasn't being serious. He was trying to distract everyone from the fact that the deficit was so severe (and set to get much worse if he gets the tax cuts changed to permanent) that he doesn't have room to do anything real. Hence:

    W: Where are we going?
    US: Mars!
    W: When are we going?
    US: Real soon!

    let this thing linger for a few days/weeks, let more and more people vent their (righteous) anger at the utter waste of money that the licensing has proved to be and then, magnanimously, they will offer a renewal option for three years for the price of two with a guaranteed major release or a refund of half the price (or something like that). And all the while, they'll paint themselves as being responsive as opposed to the reality of them being abusive (in the monopolistic sense)

    While humanity has been spreading out to new places ever since Africa, everywhere they go, a significant number of them tend to then congregate in towns/villages/cities/mega-cities. Now, rather then flee into the wilderness again in reaction to the stressors of this (which is really difficult nowadays), people control their personal space with headphones.

    for Baystar to continue to deny that Microsoft had anything to do with the funding if in fact they did? I realize that Baystar is not under oath right now (right now), but patently false statements about publicly traded companies seems like it might be crossing a line.

    One can only hope.

    No matter how much we tell people "don't open attachments unless you know the person!" they still won't listen.

    But since quite a few worms attack Outlook and then send off copies to everyone in the address book, opening attachments from people you know is in some ways MORE likely to lead to infection.

    I would say a safer rule is "Don't open attachments you weren't expecting", or "Don't open attachments that you haven't independently confirmed" or the safest of all "Don't open attachments in Outlook, period!"
