When I started it I found a huge increase in energy levels that helped motivate me to work out more. I also found I began to crave vegetables. Fiber is encouraged with Atkins as it has some kind of effect of reducing the sugars absorbed. Overall I really don't eat more protein. I get full more easily from protein and fiber meals. Rather than feeling hungry a few hours after eating previously.
Now I maintain this diet because cutting out sugars has improved overall concentration and depression. I used to think I had some kind of depression problem, turned out to be what I was eating.
Well I like some aspects of the techonology where they simply don't explain things. While ST:TNG and later were full of rediculous technobable. BSG consists of nothing more than, "hey, the planet we are searching for Starbuck on clogs our engines." It's nice to get a more realistic approach. Criticising BSG over it's science is rediculous, quite simply the majority of science in your average TV show is completely asnine. BSG simply leaves you in the dark, which quite honestly seems to be the best approach.
I absolutely love the new design of the cyclons including their fighers and robots. Whether you like the "human" clones is debateable and a matter of preference.
I'm not sure how you mention Andromeda, which is Herucles in space except shitty. Stargate is just fun, with unrealistic heros. Enterprise is crap. ST:TNG is way better even in it's first season.
I can't agree more. I have to wonder if the people that don't like BSG are mistakingly watching the original series. I think the plot is great, the only holes in the plot are mostly areas not yet explained. Maybe people like individual episodes where the plot is neatly packaged per episode. I personally like plot lines that extend multiple seasons.
As far as the acting it's one of a few shows where the characters seem like real people. A lot of shows seem to consists of these fearless heros who never flinch when their life is on the line. BSG seems to portray the heros in a much more realistic light.

Hm, for some reason notepad doesn't work from ssh. With commands like cl, cw and so on. VIM makes the perfect editor for quick edits on a remote computer.
A little late in the game for a reply. But I think I see what you are saying. This is more of a matter of configuration. Usually a server has no need to contact itself using it's external IP address. This seems like a matter of: Should a properly configured firewall block packets originating from itself? Are there times in normal operation that this is ok? Who knows how the Windows firewall is setup. I doubt there is a way to change that behavior.
If you have a firewall with no ports open, then communication attempts on port 80 will fail no matter what. If you have port 80 open and a web service listening, then obviously there will be a response. Very simple.
In Windows you have to adjust the overlay settings. Forget where it is, but somewhere in Display properties. I don't use Windows anymore, but I recall the option. Assuming you have both a monitor and a TV connected you just set which screen will have overlay.
First episode of Sliders was pretty good. I saw some of the first season recently. It's about as good as Enterprise... crap.
Andromeda was never good. SG1 is definately losing it.
I know there are always those that oppose something just because everyone else likes it. BSG is nearly perfect... see my post below. As for Firefly, well it was another well made series. You probably wouldn't like it.
You were thinking of Farscape. It's actually a well made series, but it was hardly ground breaking. BTW, only one alien looked like a muppet.
Which is exactly why it has so much potential. Instead of being a long and drawn out "how long can we stay alive?" They are going for some deaper motivation behind the cylons. The mumbo jumbo stuff has presented itself, by no means does run the whole show. Hell the commander is dead against it.
Besides saying "frack" the series has no real flaws. It's got good acting, good plot, charater development. They even managed to have a big budget with nice special effects.
If you don't like it fine. So far I have not heard anybody mention anything better than it, that's for sure.
Actually they are talking the new remake of Battlestar Galactica. Which is the best SciFi series ever. Watch it the whole way through the season finale is one of those shockers.
Then usually when such a driver does oops rmmod driver; modprove driver doesn't usually get it for some reason. At least the system is still responding and I can safely restart the system. On the other hand such crashes seem to happen only with the nvidia driver and not very often. I don't think I've seen an from source driver panic before.
Spyware, etc render even the fastest computers unsuable, so people tend to just buy a new computer when it's overrun. Instead of buying a Compaq, buy a Mac like other's have already suggested.
If you've got any curiosity in you. There are Linux distro's they maybe could be figured out by some one.
A few things. First rtsp requires some ports to be open. So you have a firewall, it will need configuring. I do not remember where I found the information, but between google and netstat I'm sure you could figure it out. Second mplayer must be built with network support. If you are using gentoo it would require the "net" use flag. If it is a binary it's most likely built with. If I am not mistaken you will also need a package called Live. Sorry rtsp is extremely annoying.
Actually my Win2k partition had the same issue. It would get hung with that vga progress bar for a good while. Turned out to be my old cd burner dying. Bought a new burner boots up as quickly as my Gentoo install.
Mine arrived last night. Used it in the car today and it worked great. My drive goes from Frederick, MD to Columbia,MD. Kept it on 107.1 the whole time.
Then I found this
this. I'm going to try it when I get home.
I couldn't agree more. Using a console can be so much faster than a GUI filemanager. If you make use of [TAB] and keep your system well organized so that tab completetion is useful.
No need to reply. Just to thank you. It works great. Also a possible security hole through this. For bittorrent I use btqueue. It has various services listening like a webservice, etc. You don't want those ports opened up to the public. Most programs, including BTqueue have the ability to listen on a certain ip address. BTqueue defaults to 127.0.0.1 for these extra services. Between sockstat and netstat, make sure you know which interface these programs are listening on.
Let me make sure I understand this. You can take:
pass in on $ext_if inet proto tcp from any to $ext_if \
port $btorrent flags S/SA keep state queue (p2p_bit, low_ack)
Change to:
pass in on $ext_if inet proto tcp from any to $ext_if \
user torrent flags S/SA keep state queue (p2p_bit, low_ack)
Not only will it assign the apropriate queue, but automatically open the ports without specifically defining them?

I still don't get the shaky camera remarks.
Hail, Emperor Dubya!

To add to that. They actually grow tree farms for the purpose of making paper. Because of paper we have more trees.

Magic Carpet is an excellent game. I got it working great in DOSBox. Pay close attention to their FAQ to get it working.

Sliders?! You're kidding, right?

Wrong. Porn would be more accurate.

Dude, we are talking about roaches here.
