Considering Spider-Man is a comic book, or a cartoon; I thought the CG was great. Just how can you make a skinny nerd leaping all over the city like Spidey does look realistic anyway?
If you liked that, try entering "french military victories" into the search box and hitting "I'm feeling lucky".
These results are caused by lots of sites linking to pages with the specific intention of getting them a high PageRank. I'm surprised you haven't seen this sort of thing mentioned on Slashdot before - it's been in a few articles, but you can search for them yourself if you're interested.
Firebird has a little icon in the bottom left (i.e. the status bar) that lets you know if it has blocked a pop-up. Double-click this and you can enable pop-ups for the current site.
I thought 112 was an international number - that is, it works no matter where you are (I know it works in Australia too). Here the emergency number is 000. This also happens to be the exact number that is dialed if I place my Nokia 3310 keypad-down on a hard surface and press the back three times... it seems that the zero is the load-bearing button.
Your understanding of Archimedes' principle is flawed. Perhaps *you* should try your little experiment. If that sounds like too much work, try researching your claim a little.
If ice is less dense than water, a given amount of ice will take up more volume than the same amount of water. You describe the bottle-cracking effect of water expanding once it is frozen - consider what happens when ice melts.
Last time I upgraded my motherboard and graphics card, the new motherboard had some fancy little lever at the end of the AGP slot (for AGP 4x or something? I don't know).
My new GeForce3 was DOA, so I tried to use my old graphics card (a TNT) with my new motherboard. Problem was, the TNT had this extra bit of PCB that overhanged off the edge of the AGP slot right where the lever was, and it wouldn't fit.
So, I got out my pocket knife's saw, and hacked off the excess PCB (it didn't have any circuitry on it). It worked great!
"There's no other criteria than beign able to survive, whatever the circunstances, to natural selection."
That's what I always thought natural selection was anyway; the tendancy for those organisms more suited to thrive in their environment to survive and breed, hence passing on their advantageous characteristics.
Humans with larger, yet useless, heads (as the grandparent post argued) would be less likely to survive because of increased food/oxygen requirements (...and perhaps also because they would look stupid). This would be a much more subtle effect, taking much more time than, perhaps, a species adapting immunity to a recent virus. But over millions of years wouldn't only those with efficiently sized heads continually survive?
Even though I wasn't in the official beta as such (damn US & Canada only restriction; I'm glad they've finally changed that now), I still played all of the various versions of it on Warforge and experienced all of the bugs & imbalances (plus more that were directly related to Warforge). Blizzard did a lot more than issue vague statements and careful considerations, in fact I remember one patch where they changed almost every single thing that was listed as imbalanced on a popular clan site.
Sure, that list was made by one person, but it illustrates the fact the Blizzard did indeed listen to the fans. They just didn't drastically alter the game and redo the entire hero system as some people were suggesting.
Blizzard will most likely also modify a lot of the stats from the original game, much like they did to Starcraft when they released Brood War. The modifications made to the game when Brood War was released resulted in a much more strategic game, and because of this Starcraft was immensely popular with pro-gamers and gained a huge following (just look at Korea).
Right now, Warcraft III doesn't seem to have the same sort of finely balanced strategic gameplay that Brood War did, and because of this probably won't last as long. Blizzard know this, so I'm betting that they aim to fix this with the release of Frozen Throne.
You would rather they rushed out sub-standard games and expansions like almost every other developer? The fact that they take their time is what makes Blizzard games so great.
Of course, in this case waiting to the end to test server load, or even not bothering to test server load at all with this beta will have no effect at all because this is an expansion that requires an original copy of Warcraft III to play. They already know what the maximum server load will be.
The beta tests that Blizzard run are mainly for balancing issues anyway - with the exception of the Diablo II stress test (the only test I have been officially involved in, because it was worldwide). But the stress test didn't help much anyway because playing on battle.net at launch was about as much fun as trying to load up a beta test application form...
OK, so that one by Masamune Shiro (Ghost in the Shell) looks pretty cool, especially the white version... but the other one is nothing special.
I bet both are about as useful as my Darth Vader helmet mouse. I think it inflicted some kind of permanent injury on me when I used for a few days after leaving my IntelliMouse Explorer at a LAN party.
I have been tempted to buy a console for a while before this was announced, and after the initial disapointment when the countdown at blizzard.com finished (...or more correctly, once their site came back online after they effectively self-DoS'd) I figured this game was a good enough excuse.
But I don't really know which console is the best, and (surprisingly) a quick search at google didn't result in many comparisons between the three consoles. Right now I'm leaning towards a Gamecube (mainly because I had both a NES and a SNES when I was younger, and the Resident Evil remakes), but what do others here recommend?
BTW: I have no interest in running Linux on my console:P

For what possible reason should we have evolved to have a 25 hour biological clock?
As a Robotics Engineer at Swinburne University, let me be the third to say, YIPPIE! Although it doesn't necessarily have to be manned :P

Didn't that bell sound get annoying?

"...where more komplikated changes are possible."
If the letter 'c' has been dropped from the langauge, how shall we spell 'change'?
Seriously though, I never considered that. But in case he did parse it that way, please replace my RTFT with a RTFS.
Would it impress you even more to learn that a planet like Earth is even younger? Think about it :P

Looks like her, but not quite... where's the mole on her left cheek? Besides, Natalie doesn't go to Princeton.
Gilbert Adair translated that whole book into English, and called it "A Void". It doesn't use the letter 'e' either.
