I watched the game, I was with Germany and I don't think they played better than Brazil or had more chances.
The parent is right, the Germans were savagely shooting at the goal, and from a distance, and always missing the net my a large margin.
It was better for them to settle the ball on the ground, maintain posession and think up a decent strategy, instead of the wide shots.
I disagree with the parent in that I think the Germans played better than he describes, it is just that Brazil was of course Brazil.

See, the world cup isn't about a particular sport. It is a big family reunion, where all the nations in the world celebrate the one thing they have in common. Like family reunions, you don't have to enjoy the cheesy party atmosphere (maybe you prefer an elite night club with electronic music over the loud BBQ party, where gramma is dancing with her kids, etc.) You are required to be there, if not physically then in spirit, and atleast to appreciate the fact the world has put behind its differences and conflicts, and is now chasing a ball like little kids.
Family reunions are not hip and cool, but they are essential to keep us in touch with our people. You can go to anywhere in the world, and you will make friends by just bringing along a soccer ball. I played with hispanis, indians, iranians, south africans, and dutch, and none of them spoke much english.
The world cup was a much need break from 9/11, mideast crisis, bad economy, and Gawd Damn unemployment.

Just make sure you have the most free PCI slots (3 is
good, more is better.) and also make sure you have
the most ports too, serial/parallel/usb/etc and you
should have the sound/video, probably modem, built in.
If you are going in such "large scale" upgrade, it
wont hurt you to contact the original vendors in
taiwan/hongkong/indonesia/malaysia/etc. You will
get a bulk discount.
