...people who can sit outside a baseball stadium or concert from some vantage point and watch the game/performance for free are also commiting a felony.
If they sold 40 million, 30 million or 20 million...who cares? I don't. I would probably care if they sold 56 copies, because then I could point and laugh. But seriously, I don't think too many people care about how many they sold versus XP sales when market size is factored in.
Yawn.
Tell me something interesting. Like that the Sens will beat the Ducks in 5 when they meet in the final.
A situation like this may force a more serious, mainstream debate if the networks were to dig their heels in. I think the problem with DRM, IP and copyright is the fact is that there has not been a situation like this that the public as a whole can really understand.
So here's to hoping we take one step back to take two steps forward.
Having a.XXX domain would make a simplistic filters only effective for simple people. I doubt a porn domain owner is going to drop chickswithhorses.com and move everything over to chickswithhorses.xxx. He'll just use redirection and have two front doors to his domain.
ISP's and government authorities will NEVER be able to move porn off of.com. There's simply too may jurisdictions out there in our wonderful world.
All of the.XXX media attention and effort seems pointless to me.
...it seems like SG-SG1 has been on forever. Then there's that Atlantis show that's been on a while.
For such a successful series SG seems to have very little of the cultural impact or generate the extreme opinion that ST had. It's like SG has always been 'okay', but ST was 'great' but then simply wore out it's welcome.
"I finally choose a top product, that had been on the market for a year and a half, from a very well known and reputable company."
Something sounds fishy here. A 'top' product from a reputable company on the market for 18 months but it doesn't work?
(a) Since there are no names mentioned, maybe it's not a top product from a reputable company. (b) You are trying to use the product for something it was not designed. (c) You're a customerzilla that is a networking legend in his own mind.
In any event, you chose the product so you've got to deal with it. You either toss the device or continue your CYA exercise and get something out of your 'investment'. Apart from an apology and updated firmware, they really owe you nothing. Maybe they can offer you a job. But would you want to work for a company that would allegedly ship bad products?
Energy savings or not, I like the extra hour of daylight in the evening. It's extra time to play ball, take the dog for a walk or just let my kid play outside.
I'd go for double daylight savings if I could.
Maybe the PhD guys should get out of their classroom and enjoy the day.

I can see interacting with a robot that comes with a 10 minute verbal disclaimer with a requirement that you have to say "I agree" in order for the robot to do anything.
"and downloading every bit of malware they can get their hands on."
Come on. More than anything, Microsoft is in a no-win situation to try and protect people from themselves. If everyone ran Linux instead of Vista there'd be the same damn problems.
If a thirteen year old wants to download smileys for their IM client, the kid is going to do it. If the software has spyware, then that spyware would do what it takes to open up or break the system. It's pretty damn hard to code against human behaviour.
To clarify the complaint: "Canada does have intrusive, corporate-friendly copyright laws that allow us to kick in the front door of a home and cavity search any occupant who even talked about last night's episode of 'Gilmour Girls'"
...but since this is the internet, I'd probably make more money if I copyright the 'Dirty Sanchez', 'Standing up in a shower doing it from behind' and 'Two midgets, a trapeze and the running start'.

I for one had raised expectations. I was very disappointed on the 8GB limit. I have a ton of music and was expecting something on the order of a 30gb at a minimum for storage.
But what I think REALLY hurts is the Cingular tie in. I was hoping to have a phone not tied to a contract or carrier. VERY disappointing.
I once had a person come in to interview for a Testing position. Unfortunately, HR had passed me the resume late in the process and I really hadn't had time to take a look at their resume before I met the candidate ( at our company, the first interview was done by HR ). The resume had four spelling mistakes on the first page alone. For a Testing position, this wasn't going to work and I politely told the candidate why they weren't going to be hired.
I did have more blunt talk with HR and got really ticked when they didn't see what the big deal was.

I want the most active domain in the ms tld.

For once, I'd like to see news of a protest in Britain about all those friggin cameras.
It'll save time.

ummm...if you buy IT products based on advertising
(A) you get what you deserve
(B) you'd better jump out of the industry before you get pushed

Too bad you entered this as AC. I would have given you +1 Insightful.
I guess it's easier for people to take a cheap shot than actually help them improve their systems. Slashdot is so sadly predictable.

Most of the company has been way below normal since mid-January.
