  1. Re:lose money? on Netflix Woes Mean a Gap In Shipments · · Score: 2, Informative

They're giving credits to people with delayed movies. They don't say exactly what that credit is (a full month? 1 day's worth per day of delay?) This won't push people to a more expensive plan. The discs aren't shipping, it doesn't matter if you have 2 or 6 in your plan.

The Watch Now service is still available and always usable even when you have discs at home (as long as you have a high enough subscription, 2 discs is enough for that)

  2. Re:Not impressed by my trial. on Netflix Woes Mean a Gap In Shipments · · Score: 1

This is unusual for netflix. Usually you can get 2 discs per week for each of the discs on your subscription. If your trial ends before this problem is resolved, you should think of that rate when weighing your options

I've been using netflix to dip into a lot of older movies I never got around to seeing, or want to see again. RedBox isn't going to do that for you.

Hey, I'll admit I liked the Ewoks. I was pretty young when I saw Jedi, but since I liked the Ewoks back then, I still like the Ewoks. (I also liked the first of the Ewok movies they made after Jedi, but I'm willing to bet that won't stand up as well to another viewing).

The ewoks were at least cute, Jar Jar's just annoying. (But it IS fun playing the Lego Star Wars game and slicing Jar Jar up all day (or shoving him off cliffs) with no penalty whatsoever)

The problem with audio is you need somewhere to listen to it. I'm always turning the audio down as it is, and all I have is the speakers on the TV. If I but subwoofers and stand alone speakers, my neighbors (I live in an apartment building) would kill me.

But I usually enjoy movies with the sound fairly low and the subtitles on, so I can understand what people are saying without the explosions breaking windows

They do have an economic incentive. If they had a better filter, or were more flexible in making exceptions to it's demands, they would have Mr. Libshitz's business, and be receiving money from him each month. Because they refused, they don't have his business and have lost some revenue. Now, just his business is probably not enough to pay for a chance in policy, but if there are others who have the same problem, it might add up. A monopoly on luxuries still has to worry about driving potential customers away (they may not be able to get the product anywhere else, but they can still choose to do without the product.)
