Doesn't seem to work like that.. if search terms Xfree85 and Xfree87 are behaving normally.

I agree. I recently came back from my first trip to Japan, and my experiences are very much similar to your observations. Its an extremely expensive place, made me realize that I should never crib about prices here in the States. Western culture pervades everywhere, except that it is very brand centric. They are crazy after well-known american brands.
I experienced the racism aspect too. Every non-Japanese person is treated with distance, and few people I talked to mentioned that they are never able to integrate fully into their culture. There is a sense of rigidity about them, and you can feel it in normal conversations also.
Maybe their exports of anime, manga, etc might be making headway in other parts of the world, but I doubt anybody would like to import any non-productized aspects of Japanese culture.
This may be OT, but your opinion is one of minority. Plain text is NOT the standard. Most people don't give a sh*t about what editor they are using, they use the default that Outlook / OE shows them. And yes, OE/Outlook is the most popular mail client out there, like it or not.
Why the hell are you complaining about a small raise ? I have a 25% cut since over a year now.. No raises 2 years before that.. just happy to have a job. And yes, I do 60-70 hours weeks, sometimes more.
China's ascendancy as the sole superpower, helped along by her space activities, would be a horrific development, threatening freedom and world peace. Even without reference to China's lunar ambitions, the military implications of Shenzhou should give one pause. The integration of technologies achieved by Shenzhou , including recoverable satellite capability, implies the ability to hit targets in the United States with nuclear warheads with a great deal of accuracy. Also the same low-power propulsion technology used to adjust a spacecraft's orbit could also be used to alter the path of offensive missiles, helping them evade proposed US anti-missile defense systems
I will try to say this without being a flamebait. It is fine for USA to have space technologies with many military applications, or to have the ability to hit targets around the world accurately. But if another country does this, it threatens world peace.
Why ? Is it because we are the only country with "God" on our side ?:-)
I doubt you are for real. You will work for free if you have food, water and bed ?
food ? It's $150 a month if you buy from grocery store and cook some stuff yourself.
water ? It's free.
bed ? Share an apt with a roomie, and you can have a bed for less than $500 a month (may vary depending on the place you live)
Are you telling me that you will work like a dog for less than $700 a month ?
I would imagine that the screen would be susceptible to scratching without some kind of cover. They probably would sell the screen cover separately.
Otherwise, seems a pretty cool device.
Its possible that we may see some progress on the spam related front. Microsoft's previous focus on security in their products is yielding some (questionable ?) results.
Its not a question of buggy or non-buggy software. Its a question of potential loss of *any* revenue if customers move to open source software.
The battle's just beginning. We are going to see a lot of such "recommendations" and "threats" all over the globe in next few years.
Ok, I am way tired of this constant crap of "but they don't have healthcare, they don't have food, blah blah....", everytime some developing country tries to make a technological advance. Do you live in some kind of utopia ? Does every citizen have to have all their basic and not-so-basic needs fulfilled before their country can think of spending money in defence or technology ? WTF ?
Science always advances. Technology makes inroads. The aim is to make lives easier for *most* people, not *all* people. Even the US has not been able to ensure that each of its citizens have their basic needs met, or that the fruits of technology have reached all.
So the next time you hear a story about India or Jordan or Brazil or any other developing country trying to improve the life of its citizens, try to be understanding, if not a cheerleader. And quit your high-horse!
If I had mod points today, I would mod you way way down. All you do is quote from the article, say 'amen', link to a disreputed site in your sig, and you are getting a +4 Insightful ?
Wrong... Institutional investors have much more stock, and they can heavily influence Microsoft direction. See here

To opt-out from credit card and other marketing offers, call 1-888-5-OPT-OUT. It's no longer 800-5-OPT-OUT.
MS sells Visual Studio at extremely low prices to students, who will form the new developer base.
For example, here in the SF Bay area, you would pay 10-30%, for some items even 50% more, if you do not use the club card at Safeway or Albertsons.

By its very nature, open source is available for anybody to use. Why would somebody using an open source code be called a 'looter' ?

The actual word is ternary, you insensitive clod !!
I have heard of Mono, but most people have not ! Shops that would think of using JBoss would be even less likely to know about Mono.
I am guessing that this program is going to come back soon under another name. I bet the backers are going to be the same.

I have never understood the geek factor in creating stuff using LEGO blocks. Or probably they have too much time on their hands... ....
