My 15 year old daughter crashed the hard drive in here laptop by throwing it around. She also lost all the installation discs that came with it. I put ubuntu on it and she never complained once. But yeah it took me awhile to get it setup right, the wireless network card gave me a bit of trouble until I figured out what drivers I needed.
I fall into the tinkerer category. I just built a robot using an Arduino as the brain. This would have been useful for some of the servo and sensor inputs I was trying to do.
There are hockey games on Christmas day here in the USA. My son played in one last year and we live in Southern California. Trust me the rinks are open 365 days a year.
You're talking about the orginal apple mouse which worked as you described. This is the new apple mouse with multiple buttons (yes it has a 3rd button / scroll wheel) and can right click.
It's not a footer. It's a new slashdot feature that shows stories that you otherwise might not see becuse they are in different sections. There was a story on the main page about it yesterday? Funny thing is one of the concerns is that people would mistake the mini-headlines as footnotes to the story above it.
Three or four topics up, someone said that it was the "Yellow Journalists" that got it banned. Now you say it was the rope making industry. Which was it? You guys want a moment to get your stories stright?
Sat radio offers that advantage and moe. For example Sirius offers 6 channels dedicated to Jazz and XM offers 5. With the added bonus of being able to listen to these stations anywhere in the country. Heck it gets any more specific, Sirius offers a channel that plays nothing but 80s hairbands 24/7 if that is your thing.
I use my bluetooth enabled phone to synch my address books. It is so much easier typing contact info on a real keyboard and then moving it to the phone. I also use my phone as a modem. I can establish a wireless connection between my GPRS/Bluetooh enabled phone and my Powerbook and surf the internet. Not at any blazing speeds (yet) but as long as I can get a GPRS signal I have an internet connection at my disposal.
It is the ODB II (On Board Diagnostic) port. It is usually under the dash on the drivers side. Should be quite visible. It is similar in size and shape to a parallel port. It is most commonly used to read the various codes the computer may trip if it detects a problem (when your check engine light comes on)

Take a look at the feedly extension for chrome. Great way to read RSS feeds.

Yes Sir
I think the poster was thinking more along these lines.
"Egon, this reminds me of the time you tried to drill a hole through your head. Remember that?"
"That would have worked if you hadn't stopped me."

This guy's signature catches someone everytime. You're not the first one to "correct" him. Pretty good troll.

First thing that comes to mind is a BT keyboard and mouse.
You should really enjoy "The Hulk" then.
I'd like to see an update to the mac version of their media player. The current one is too slow and clunky.
I find your lack of faith disturbing.
This is very interesting. Are you refering to Western Eruopean society? Any more sources of information on this?

My update was only 22.9 MB. Seems odd. I did have separate security update that was something like 5 MB.

Hey you're right!
Kramer: "I've cut slices so thin, I couldn't even see them."
Elaine: "How'd you know you cut it?"
Kramer: "Well, I guess I just assumed."
