Their qualifications for describing new types of attacks (which are actually age old) seem pretty phishy. Hell, they could have called it a server side trojan. I can do a better job than them, and I'm some guy wasting my time browsing slashdot..
Well, seeing as it takes a good long time to get these things installed, if you don't start immediately, after 5 years you'd be only at 50% completed instead of 80 or 90% like your competitors?
The most powerful warrior tribe in all of Africa, responsible for selling most of the slaves who labored in America (north, central and south), inventors of the blues (have a listen, it's where the american slaves took the style of music) and fully matriarchial society.
Every gigabyte they send has a cost, they may have a large connection (or three) but they also pay for the traffic going over that link.
You're also forgetting that what the telecoms are proposing here isn't just looking at how much, but also where it's going. so now, they'll pay for an OC-12, by the gig AND a fee to make sure their customers get a good connection.
It's the third part they're objecting to. They already pay large amounts of cash for everything going in and out of their datacenter, why should they pay _more_ for guaranteed priority?
It's just in the same state of flux that this N specifiction is..
You can buy wimax distribution systems now, alvarion has one, navini has one, but the problem is that they're based on a protocol that isn't finished. In the meantime, have a look at hiperLan gear, it's not half bad, for the meantime.
Those studies were a pile of crap, none of the participants were screened for psychosis before they started smoking, which leads to the inevitable question, would someone who is bordering psychosis possibly self medicate with marijuana? Correlation != Causation.
They're pretty much both anti MJ propaganda pulled out by people who were against the reclassification of marijuana in britain. Strange how they suddenly got done right around when the reclassification became news.
people use freemail or free voip software, there's no way to monitor communications, either for your own devious ends, or actual goverment mandated policies (Sarbanes oxley..or something similar, and one that's similar to HIPPA) pretty much anything that says people with access to confidential info have to protect it.
That plus the standard, you're using company resources, blah blah.
It has 0 to do with the court decision, this is microsoft going through diplomatic channels, asking the EU court (not the US court) to be fair to microsoft.
Took out the F, because I don't see the need to be rude..
Just as a side note, why would they delay an OS (as it was stated further up) losing HW manufacturers billions, just to rewrite it for a single HW manufacturer who accounts for les than 10% of the market????
Really, Apple hardware is nothing. Very pretty nothing, but nothing none the less.
I don't think that word means what you think it does:
Adjective
* S: (adj) negligible, paltry, trifling (not worth considering) "he considered the prize too paltry for the lives it must cost"; "piffling efforts"; "a trifling matter"
* S: (adj) measly, miserable, paltry (contemptibly small in amount) "a measly tip"; "the company donated a miserable $100 for flood relief"; "a paltry wage"; "almost depleted his miserable store of dried beans"
My sky box gives me the opportunity to block out channels I don't want my daughter seeing, on my computer, if I want, I can do the same thing, selective whitelisting.
It's not the ISP's job to do this sort of thing, if you don't want your children seeing certain thing, it's up to you to decide what's appropriate and what isn't. Maybe the ISP could offer a filtering service, but it should be the parents who opt in, not vice versa.

Yes, where a person makes a point about a situation by writing something that often takes the situation to an extreme.

A blip on the radar they are not.

at least, that's the way it seems to be described.
Someone might say that people online whining non stop might warrant a reply also..
Taking out spammers and bloggers?
I can't see any down side to this, honestly.

My point?
Dunno, why did they write this story anyhow?
I'd say, bending over like the DOJ did, but that's just my cynical side speaking.

Or is it just me who's been reading about rootkits and keyloggers now becoming standard payloads in worms/virus/web exploits?
In the end, they're just another piece of cut and paste code for script kiddies.
Excellent wordage.
What the hell is a hoar though?

Without something like this, parents would have to do things like be responsible, or supervise their children!!!
