  1. That's how we roll ! on New Zealand Crowdfunds $1.7 Million To Buy A Private Beach (fastcoexist.com) · · Score: 1

  2. Dolphins vs Dogs on Military Dolphins Discover 1800s Torpedo · · Score: 1

  3. Download and play or buy and wait on Terminator Salvation Game Launched, PC Version Recalled · · Score: 2, Informative

There is currently a "non-scene" working release available on torrents and such. Basically someone repackaged the game (manually done some tasks that installer should have done automatically) in a matter of hours. Question is: why do paying customers get to wait for the replacement "plan" to be put together? Why isn't there a downloadable fix put together by developers? Clearly it doesn't take much time to make.

  4. And they will replace it with on eBay May Lose 'Buy it Now' Button in Patent Case · · Score: 4, Insightful

"Kimberly's writings were safe, and the thieves didn't appear to have broken into her e-mail or other personal folders."

How, exactly, do you break into a personal folder? Is double-clicking it called "breaking" in these days? I thought the conventional term was "opening"...

  8. what? on Vista and the Music Industry · · Score: 1

I don't really have much to say on the matter...but why on earth are there no posts at all? Surely not everyone is like me ?:)

  9. wireless LAN broadband on Could YouTube Be the Killer-App for Apple's iTV? · · Score: 4, Insightful

"Why not bypass the Mac..." - because local area networking (even 802.11) is quite a bit faster than your average broadband line? Therefore the videos on a mac could be in high resolution/high quality ones, as opposed to stuff on youtube and such.

  10. Re:No, sorry, on Wikipedia Goes Mobile · · Score: 1, Funny

  12. Why? on Debian Server Compromised · · Score: 1

Why is it "cooler" to compromise a server than it is to find and report a vulnerability?
And, if one is so set on doing some damage - why go after a free service??

  13. Accident? on The Question of Robot Safety · · Score: 1

Well not really. The guy was known for his snyde and sarcastic remarks towards the machine, and for using a wrong power supply, to underpower the robot on purpose. If i was in robot's ...err...shoes, i'd do exactly the same, given the opportunity.

  23. Chat rooms on Yahoo! Closes User Created Chat Rooms · · Score: 2, Interesting

There are disturbing chat rooms in any chat medium that supports "rooms" as such. However, if my memory serves me right, there used to be a part in MOTD on IRC servers that said something along the lines of "IRC is an unmoderated medium"... If Yahoo is not a moderated place either - who is a judge of what is shocking and what is not? Not that i am advocating sick stuff, and not that i don't see how they (Yahoo) can give in to litigative pressure.. but still?

  24. Happy BD on Yahoo, Apache, Ebay, Amazon, Netscape Celebrate 10 Year Anniversaries · · Score: 3, Interesting

Happy BD, to the lot of them. Interesting to see how some of them have grown into being huge companies (amazon), and continue to develop, others being manhandled by opposition (Netscape)illegaly, and yet others outdone by fair competition and still being in business (yahoo).
