Swap "Anime" for "Buffy" and we're pretty well on the same page. I've purchased more anime than I ever would have, if I had not been able to at least sample it first. Hell, my wife and I have spent far too many dollars on that as it is.
Hah, but seriously Mazda DID make a briefcase car back in the 90s. IIRC it could hit 35mph, and folded up into a standard-sized briefcase for taking into the office. Pretty fresh!
Check Google Images for "briefcase car" and it should pop up a few snapshots of it.
Driving one of these in Midtown Madness 3 on the XBox is a blast. Easily one of the most fun vehicles in the entire game, and it certainly makes me want to give one of these a real-life test spin.:)
Slackware is the distro that got me interested in Linux in the first place. Best of luck my friend, and I send you all the best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Ironically, I see plenty of designers out there without college educations. Instead, it's those who went to "IT Mills" [the "colleges" that churn out crap] where I see most of the unemployment coming from. They teach you the "basics" of design, absolutely no programming, and shave off any useful information -- then give you a diploma and say "Have a good one!"
If you don't specialize as a designer and branch out into more complicated subjects (such as real programming, information design, usability/standards compliance), or don't have an ancillary-but-related skill (print design), you're toast, plain and simple.
The people who just learned HTML and basic Photoshop should be worried, and I would say they deserve to do so. The people who succeed are the ones who have invested the time to actually show a passion for what they do.
I've got a ReplayTV as well. They leave me the hell alone, and I pay my $12.95 a month. Not a bad trade, if you ask me.;)
I always recommend a roll-your-own PVR (like MythTV) or ReplayTV over Tivo EVERY time, for precisely this reason.
Thanks for your time, Mr. Cobb.
How do you reconcile your more socialist-leaning positions with the letter of the U.S. Constitution? Meaning, how are they a valid function of the Federal government, as opposed to, say, state and local jurisdictions?
Also, I understand that "social programs" are a large part of what comprises the GP platform, but how do you plan to actually create these new programs, remain fiscally responsible, and at the same time quell the [very] valid arguments against large increases in taxation? Please define what compells your candidacy to further a notion of "greater good" while perhaps others do not share your definition thereof.
I've ordered far more than one item at a time from both Japan and Hong Kong, and have never had a problem at all with Customs.
If this is something in effect, then I've been lucky at least 50 times over. And I collect import games and systems for a hobby, which requires me to import 90% of what I buy.
Look up all the pirate games for the following consoles:
Atari 2600
Atari 5200
NES
SNES
Sega Mega Drive
You'll quickly find out that there were plenty even back then, through stacking games into compilations, hacking a few sprites to get a different name or character, and releasing it as a 52-in-1. Shit, in HK and China, they even pirate the machines themselves. I couldn't tell you how many "clone" NES machines there are in existence, but there are more than 50.
Let's also consider Flash Cartridges, which are sold by HK and China, that can be reprogrammed with ROMs downloaded from the Internet. I use mine for aboveground uses, but I can imagine there's many of them that don't.
Also, hardware hackers came up with some ingenius means to rip and read ROMs for the cartridge-based systems. This includes the Magic Drive, and other "backup" units. These are still popular, even 15 years after they became wider in market.
Piracy has and always will be part of the gaming landscape, whether anyone likes it or not. Just because it was cartridge-based at one time, doesn't mean it didn't exist. It sure as hell did, and it'll never go away, regardless of media.
Believe me, by no means am I defending these guys. Shit, I've been hit by more fees than I can think of and I've started fighting back as much as possible.
In other news, productivity is UP 64% since the day before the crash!

...it's considered somewhat of a "Holy Grail" to get to the 60mpg/90mph horizon. Funny how that works, eh?
DMC still reminds me of good ol' DeLorean Motor Company. ;)

Write Konami? They might be receptive to it. I mean, hell, they even had one for the Dreamcast, surprisingly enough.
I give it two weeks. If they're lucky.
Then again, that never really stopped XBox and PS2 mod chip development, now did it?
Holy shit, there went my soda all over the monitor!
eom
Wow. Worst misunderstanding of Libertarian precepts that I've seen in oh, probably 2-3 years.

AGREED!
This question NEEDS to be asked DIRECTLY. They're cowards if they claim "irrelevance", and telling you that your ideas don't count.

Excellent link!
Presidential Candidate? Offices held? Sounds about as benign a party as any other on Politics1.com I've seen.
Vote for a joke of a dead party, you must mean.

Every bit of money counts these days.
put a www. before the maine address - their admins didn't set it up right. ;)
$0.30 x 100,000 = $30,000 But I see your point, though for a large corproation that's pocket change.
